<< Hello Everyone :)

I'm and I just joined the group. I joined for emotional

support. I started tae-bo about 3 weeks ago. I've lost 6 pounds and

have a long ways to go. I'm about 40 pounds over weight, which I

gained when I had my 2 children. It's been hard for me to be this

much over weight because I'm small framed and was very petite before

I had my children. My husband has been after me for 5 year now ( my

oldest is 5) to loose the weight. I've been trying really hard to

exercise 5 days a week, drinking lots of water and cutting back on my

calories and fat intake. But I have very little will power when it

comes to food. I love to eat and munch. I work in a Bakery/Deli so

I'm surrounded by food everyday and I love to bake at home and my

boys love it too! I've talked to 3 different doctors who have all

told me I'm not over weight, but I know I am. I'm 5' 2 " tall and I'm

a size 16!! Any suggestions one how many calories I should limit my

self to and how many fat grams to limit it to in a day. Right now

I'm probably eating 1200-1500 calories per day and eating about 10-15

grams of fat daily. I have a hard time finding things to eat that

are low fat and taste good. If it's blah I won't eat it. I'm open

to suggestions. Thanks

Welcome ,

Sounds like you love food like me!

Especially carbs!!!! LOL

I suggest doing Taebo or any other/cardio/strength training workout at least

6 times a week.

Modify your diet.

You can still enjoy food but limit the intake and burn burn burn!

In no time you'll see results.

Moderation is the key :)

Burn more calories than you consume.

Good Luck and welcome again :)

and probably the minimum for an inactive life style

Doing an hour of Tae-Bo daily makes my life an active or even a very active

one & therefore raises that minimum substantially

Even Weight Watchers realizes that extra points need to be eaten if doing

Tae-Bo

Nothing prevents permanent fat loss faster than not fueling your body cuz

Tae-Bo adds muscle and speeds up your metabolism if you fuel your body

probably but this whole process takes time and the initial fast weight loss

is mostly water

Hi ,

Welcome, I am and just wanted to tell you that i am definately with you

on the subject. I am another struggling with weight loss and beleive me tae

bo will really help alot.

As for suggestions on food......hmmmmmmmm

we try cutting out the baked goods, I really like to bake also and love to

eat them but for now i have replaced all sweets with fruits. I have a really

wonderful recipe for fruit dip which is fat free and my kids love it . and

my husband who it " Mr. protein/carbs/fat " can't get enough of it. I also

have a neighbor who is a nutritionist and told me that " SUGAR and CARBS " the

body doesn't absorb well so the chemicals in your body turn them to FATthen

fat just absorbs into your body rather than digesting it. so that might be a

thought.

So good luck and if you would like that recipe of just a IM/E mail support

buddyfeel free to ask.

> Welcome, ! You will get tons of support here. You are not alone. They

are quite a few women here who had trouble with weight they gained during

pregnancy and who have done well losing it through taebo and eating healthy.

You can read more about each of us at our web site at

http://taeboon.isportsdot.com/ under " Meet the Members. "

About your question, you have lost 6 pounds just doing taebo for 3 weeks

and watching what you eat. That is incredible! Of course you didn't

lose all the weight you want to lose in that time period. It took you a

lot longer than 3 weeks to gain it and it will take a lot longer to lose

it. The important thing is that you are headed in the right direction.

As you get stronger in taebo, you might find one day that you want to do

it 6 days a week (or maybe not). Are you doing the studio basic? If

so, once you move on to the advanced tapes, you should see more toning.

I think Barb hit it on the nail when she said to " ignore the calendar

and the scale. " You are doing everything right now. That is all that

matters. The changes to your body will follow.

Welcome ,

You'll find lots of support here, I know I have.

I'll also put in my 'tuppence' and ask if you've considered food intolerances (you're often addicted to the foods you have a problem with!) - I was larger at 13 stone (a stone is 14lbs) being over size 20 than I was at 15 stone (size 18), that was before, then after, I found out I was intolerant to wheat!

Now with Jazzercise classes and working out at a gym last year but this year I'm doing TaeBo (the gym was too expensive!) I'm now into size 14's and last time I was on the scale was 12.5 stone! I have other intolerances too, I try to keep a low fat diet (below 25% of my calories from fat where there is an analysis) with lots of fruit, salad, veg and meat! And I don't worry about calories so long as I'm working out regularly. Lots of people here have found different ways of eating that suit them (WW, CAD 'common sense' to name a few), some are still trying to find what works for them so I'm sure you'll be able to get plenty of advise about what's worked for others.

Hi Janette,

I am in my 5th week and loving life!(my second challenge.) But I

often wonder what I did in my first challenge. I always messed around

with the food. I had some sort of stigma attached to eating right.

But now am over that! Whew. There are some walls we sometimes build

for our self..

Best of luck, and you go girl.
