Guest guest
From my understanding Xopenex is just the Lexus version of Albuterol. It is supposed to be easier on our poor bodies than the Albuterol, but from everything I have heard the side effects are not improved and it usually doesn't work as well as the Albuterol. I know that they gave it to me in the ER with absolutely no effect. However, I don't know if anything would have had an effect at that point. I am just using Albuterol in my neb right now. It seems the longer I use it, the more soothing it gets. I can deal with the shakes! > > I get that every time I use it! Guest guest
The insurance company had me down for allergic to albuteral, yet I can use Provair etc, I know when I first was put on the nebulizer I was on straight albuteral and it gave me a blinding headaches within minutes AND sent my heart into a SVT attack with irregular heart beats, The Xopenex makes me shake but I don't get the SVT attacks with it and no headaches. I had to have my medical alert charm on my necklace redone to say that and that I was allergic to Augmentin. These jokers aren't cheap, but I need it in order to save my life if I can't talk during an accident or asthma attack. Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. ~Mother Teddy Bear's Early Learning ProgramEstablished August of 1992 From: asthma [mailto:asthma ] On Behalf Of MadelineSent: Saturday, August 09, 2008 2:57 PMTo: asthma Subject: Re: Xopenex From my understanding Xopenex is just the Lexus version of Albuterol. Guest guest
I can't take albuterol either and maybe that's why I have started getting the shakes with Xopenex. Also I have had a headache for three days. could be the Xopenex. I am allergic to codeine but I can take Hydrocodone (a synthetic codeine) It's funny what effects you may be okay for me. That's why these posts mean so much to us. Keep up the good work.....LOu > > > > I get that every time I use it! Guest guest
That is too wild, I have trouble with Codeine too! Make my liver go into spasms CRAP, I forgot to add that to my medical alert! OH WELL, I'm no paying another 150 to redo it. What is the other hospitals are famous for giving for for pain through the iv? I have a great deal of trouble with that one too! Morphine? Yeah that it! I'll have to do up an emergency card for my wallet with all this. My brains doesn't always work like it should since the fall the last of may! HUSH Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. Guest guest
I use Xopenex in my nebulizer too! Gives me the shakes and makes my heart beat faster, but it's what I need to help my breathing. I use Albuterol inhaler daily and for rescue, doesn't bother me any. > > Yes. I cannot use Xopenex for this same reason. My doctor had given me Xopenex because Albuterol gives me the shakes and he told me Xopenex would not. Wrong for me! Xopenex was worse, so I went back to Albuterol. Marge > > > > > MMR > Xopenex > > > I use Xopenex in my nebulizer and have started getting the shakes after a breathing treatment. Guest guest
My daughter does better with albuterol, too. The last time she had a serious asthma attack she used (possibly too much) Xopenex, stressed out, and started giggling and hyperventilating. The ER doctors put her on valium along with plenty of steroids. I didn't even know your body could attempt to hyperventilate during an asthma attack; it sounds uncomfortable. She had never responded to albuterol like that. Personally, I do a lot better with Xopenex than albuterol. They're not interchangeable, even if most doctors think they are. Yes. Guest guest
Well isn't that something, I had no idea your body could do that with a nebulizer treatment! something new learned everyday! Guest guest
I mix Pulmicort and Albuterol in my nebulizer. When he tried to switch me to Xopenex, he said be sure you NEVER mix Pulmicort with Xopenex. You have to use them separately in your nebulizer. When I had to go back on Albuterol, I started mixing them again. I wonder why? Anyone have any idea? I just thought about it and I am just curious.
