Sufferer We, the undersigned, call for the resignation of all Action For ME trustees who supported the funding of the PACE trial. Without the support of AFME the PACE trial may not have been funded. While AFME expressed their firm support for the funding of PACE, the other main ME charity called for the scrapping of funding for the trial and many others warned of the potentially dire consequences. The main diagnostic criteria used by PACE is the Oxford Criteria which represents those with fatigue rather than ME sufferers. The three principal investigators involved in the trial are known promoters of the psychosocial model of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The PACE trial has resulted in mass propaganda which promotes the myth that ME is a psychoscocial/mental illness. Its conclusions dramatically contradict the findings of large patient surveys on CBT and GET. PACE is likely to have devastating effects on available treatments, research funding and benefits for people with ME. The petition will be sent to the Chair of the AFME Board. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/3/call-for-action-for-me-resignations/
