Guest guest
Hi everyone. I am new to this group. Yesterday I was diagnosed with asthma. It really surprised me and I am not sure how I feel about that. What sparked it was last year I was doing some military training. I was running and I just got winded, like I couldn't catch my breath. My leader was concerned when he saw this and told me to go to the doctor and get checked out. I had an exercise challenge done that said I had exercise induced bronchial spasms. I didn't think much of it after that until this year. I was having my military physical and they wanted me to follow up about that so I went to my civilian doctor and I had a pulmonry test done. Yesterday my doctor says he I have asthma based on the test results. I guess I am trying to understand this. I don't wheeze or cough up a storm or anything. Does this make sense to you all? Is there anyone else who is like me? Can you have asthma without wheezing or having issues daily. I guess I thought a person with asthma wheezes alot and shows the typical symptoms all the time. I just don't know what to think. Any comments?
