Guest guest
, It took me a looooong time to drop sizes, even though I was steadily losing inches. I wore the same jeans throughout my whole weight loss journey. I think in my case, alot of it has to do with proportion. And the way clothes are made, too. The sizes will drop, you'll see. The best thing is to not try for a long time (to change sizes) and then when you try again, you will see a HUGE difference. I remember getting out of bed one time, and my pajama pants fell straight to the ground. LOL! That's great to hear about your refreshed motivation! Cari -----Original Message-----From: ceejaec@... According to the tape measure, I'm still losing inches (18 total to date) but I'm still wearing the same jeans I've been wearing forever. Granted, before Tae Bo, I *needed* a 16 but squeezed myself into my 14's even though I could barely breathe! Guest guest
Exactly! You are progressing every day--just by making a lifetime commitment to exercise and being fit. Sometimes the changes aren't obvious right away, but you will always be able to look back with a sense of accomplishment and know that you are doing something every day to reach your goals! And as far as proportion goes, I have no waist. I am straight down from my torso to my hips. So sizes always run weird on me. I have to try everything on in different sizes, because different brands in the same size may not fit me. Cari -----Original Message-----From: ceejaec@... Guest guest
, Each of us lose pounds and inches from different places, in different order. When I first lose, I shows on my face. It might be that you've lost more inches from your waist than your hips or thighs. Don't worry...it'll even out over time. You're doing great! And speaking of sizes, I have a question. I was watching the Tae Bo infomercial the other day and there was a lady who said she had dropped 8 sizes. On the screen, it said " went from a size 18 to a 10 " . Is that considered 8 sizes? I figured from an 18 to a 16 is one size.....am I wrong?? Either way, her results are fabulous! Guest guest
I have something to brag about. After being stuck ina rut, I finally found a workout buddy who I go to the gym with every day after work and lift and do cardio. I can't do Tae Bo because of my knee... Speaking of my knee, for all of you religious folks like myself who pray, will you say a prayer for me. I found some kind of a lump in my knee and the physical therapist thinks that it might be a cyst or a tumor...I go to the doctor tomorrow for tests. Please everyone, and I usually don't ask this, please keep me in your thoughts...I haven't told anyone in my family including my son and his father, so I need all the support I can get right now. I bet your body is reshaping itself, getting firmer and muscular in some needed places, and smaller in others. Keep working out and I bet you will be a solid 12 before long. It took me a year to go from a 12 to a 10. When my 10s fit, it felt like magic, but I know the real cause -- hard work! Also, remember that clothes sizes are strange. Next time you go to a store try on different jeans. You might be surprised at the results. There doesn't seem to be any standardization to the sizes. Guest guest
LOL Elena! I'm glad to hear there is a fellow waist challenged person out there, just like myself. It took me FOREVER to drop even just one size! And even the sizes that do fit me around the waist, are loose everywhere else. Where does it all end?? I hate my whole midriff section. I try not to be negative about it, but I know we all have our spots and my whole waist/tummy region really frustrates me! I got it from the Mexican side of my family (my father). My mother has a teeny waist. I finally found a pair of jeans that looks good -- Levy 501 jeans. They are tighter in the leg and butt. Finally (after 14 months of taebo), I'm getting a firm stomach. I really concentrate on my abs during taebo. The balance moves from the live tapes (e.g., AL4, AL3, AL8) have been good for me because there is no faking it. I will never have a small waist because I'm not built that way, but at least I have lost my pouch. Elena

It's the same thing when that lady at the gym yesterday told me I was all muscle. I look at myself and see all the areas that still need improvement (the butt, the stomach, the back of my legs). I guess it's the perfectionist in me! I do see how far I have come and when I look at myself, I do realize that I have made vast improvements...but it's hard not to also see the areas that still have a ways to go! But, I'm working on it....LOL! It's hard to change a way of thinking that has been with us for so long (only seeing the negative) but we can do it! These people wouldn't give us compliments if it weren't true....so maybe we should just tell our inner voices to shut up for a little while and listen to everyone else...LOL!
