I find the sauna too much (wooz-making) most times, but it can be a good

detox if you’re up to it. I’ve wondered about those footbaths, and would

also be interested in hearing feedback from anyone who has used them. Aylwin

Hi! I couldn't agree with you more. It is difficult for me to sit in

warm bath for more than a few minutes without that woozy feeling

taking over. And the strange thing it lasts well beyond my time in

the actual bath. It's clearly triggering something.. and a relaxing

experience I once enjoyed is now over. I've replaced it with a hot

foot bath.

Aylwin,

I belong to a support group for women who have become ill due to breast

implants. Almost all of them do both the fri saunas and the ionic foot baths.

They swear by them.

I was wondering if I could do the fir sauna sicne I have low blood pressure and

am very sensitive to tempertures. Did you try a steam or fir sauna? The fir

saunas don't get as hot.

I don’t know about fir saunas…but regular, steam, dry, infrared…it’s all the

same – either I’m up to it, or mostly not…anyway being housebound and rarely

even able to drive 5 minutes, I couldn’t get to one anyway. I have the low

BP too. I might try one of those foot baths though, if I can get the person

to come here with it. Good luck trying a “cool” sauna! TC, Aylwin xox

Aylwin,

Please keep in mind that for anything you must 'ramp up' (i.e. gradual time

and temperature) when introducing any treatment or therapy.

P.J.,

If the underlying infection is something like Lyme Disease or some of its

association 'co-infections'... what is being stirred up are usually referred to

as the 'bugs' as heat / higher body temperature is NOT what they prefer.

Heat causes a die-off effect which increases the level of toxins in the

body... which means an increase of symptoms. Can also be referred to as a 'Herx'

reaction.

Most with Lyme and 'tick borne infections' report having a lowered body

temperature. For example, mine is now usually between 96.6 to 97.3, and it is

suggested to take your temperature 3-times a day (same time) to keep in your log

/ symptoms journal to know if there is a pattern / cycle with any symptoms you

may have OR if you have a fever. Not knowing that you may (now) have a lowered

body temperature and when you truly do have a fever... you may unknowingly

ignore it because if/when you take your temperature its not much over 99.

Last year I had an increase of my 'usual' abdominal symptoms; hot/cold

feeling... but my temperature was 100.3. Since I knew that my 'new' body

temperature was lowered, this meant that I was well into the " need medical help "

zone.

I hope this may be of help / use...

Thanks Charolette, but as I can’t get to the sauna and it costs, it’s just

not gonna happen. It’s just that I’ve tried in the past, and my capacity is

variable from none to maybe 15 minutes or so. I will see if the foot detox

lady will come to the house and how much that costs. XO Aylwin

I didn't know someone would come to your house to do them? I thought you had to

buy your own. Anyway, I heard the best place to get one is on Ebay. They run

about $250 which is more than I want to spend.

Where do you go to try a fir sauna? I'm actually considering buying on for my

house if they really would help. But, I need to make sure I can even handle it.

The fir saunas do cause Herx symptoms, so you have to work you way up from even

a couple of minutes at first.

Hi Jill,

I haven't tried either of those things. But if your goal is detoxing,

my Dr put me onto these things called " footsies " foot patches.

They are originally a Japanese thing, apparently. There are other

brands out there as well.

Basically, you stick them on the bottom of your feet when you go to

bed at night and they are supposed to absorb toxins released through

the bottom of your foot. I honestly don't know if they really work,

but I do know that they start off white, and by the morning they are

a horrible brown/black colour, yuk!

I only mentioned them because that is similar to the ioninc footbath

pictures I've seen, where the water gets progressively

browner in colour as you use it.

I do know that toxins are released in your sweat, it is one of the

major ways your body rids itself of them. Alot of the sweat your body

produces is through the feet. So there is at least some scientific

basis for it.

Whether it is actually increasing the amount of toxins the body rids

itself is anyone's guess.

take care, ness

Well I googled the “footsies” …they do sound interesting. They do warn of

“herxing” (though not in those words) though. Who really knows, I guess the

thing is to try things out and see what happens. I’m gonna ask my alt.

health practitioner tomorrow about the foot baths and footsies and see what

she thinks (she’s really smart about things!). I’ll let you know if I find

out anything interesting! Aylwin xox

Hi Ness, well she (my alt practitioner) is not sure about either the

footbaths or the “footies”, though they do seem to have some effect…she has

just not used them personally or in her practice. I may try a footbath, and

I’ll let you know how it is. However, I did ask about a rebounder (you know,

one of those teeny trampolines?) for lymph activation and general

circulation (as I/we can’t really exercise) and she thought that was a great

idea! XOX Aylwin

Thanks Aylwin!

Goodluck with the rebounder, let us know how you go with it. I think

I have read about them somewhere, now that you come to mention it.

Can't think of where though (extra foggy today, lol).

take care, ness.
