Guest guest
Patients with end-stage renal disease can qualify under a spouse's work record, just as a child can qualify for Medicare based on mom or dad's work record. Bev Do you have the Medicare publication for end-stage renal disease patients? This publication has this in it. Guest guest
This does not affect the spouse's account with Social Security. If you look at the A,B, B1, B2 etc. this could be qualifying events formore than one spouse, i.e. people that are divorced etc. numerous times. As long as they meet the length of marriage qualification, they can qualify under their spouse for benefits. Guest guest
Thanks Bev, I do have the book and understand the eligibility under a spouse's work record. The story the dialysis sw told was that NEITHER the pt NOR her spouse had sufficient work credits (nor was she ever enrolled as disabled under a parent's social) but that nontheless pt got Medicare bases on ESRD. I find this hard to believe and that's why I ask if anyone knows of a similar example. -----Original Message-----From: BEVERLY A. Guest guest
It may be that age played a part in the qualification as if you are younger some how they get Medicare.>>> lmorriso@... 7/19/2004 12:55:34 PM >>> Thanks Bev, I do have the book and understand the eligibility under a spouse's work record.
