Guest guest
Can you get a MRI of your Thoracic(middle) and Lumbar(lower) spine? The pain could be radiating to your legs. Any questions ask, I'm not shy. Take care of you. Big gentle huggles, Di in Feasterville-Trevose, PA ) dimntd on AIM, IRC, ICQ & Yahoo! Messenger yellerdog@... wrote: > I have both CFS and Fibro. However, the worst and most baffling pain feels like a burning muscle in my upper legs: from my quadriceps to my hips. It is mostly on the top and sides of my legs. Guest guest
, I get leg pain, maybe not the same as yours, right before my period. I find that sitting in hot water helps. I also used to get deep aches in different places (I have FMS so the pain " travels " ), but since I started with Chinese medicine I don't get that anymore. Best of luck to you. It sounds brutal. I hope you find a solution. Keep looking! T.
Guest guest
Hi , how about Curcumin? It’s not too expensive (herbal, get it at the hesalth food/vitamin store) and a big help to me on all kinds of pain, which is similar to yours (hip/sciatic, burning thighs etc)…also Epsom salt baths. Sometimes massage just increases the inflammation for me too, it’s kind of a judgment call. I sure hope you feel better soon dear. Guest guest
Hey , I have the same chronic problem and it is just driving me insane almost. My legs are the worst at night and now in the last month, my hips have been added as well. I can't think of anything I did activity wise to cause my legs and hips to flare up in such an intense amount of pain. And this is definitely new pain for me. Sometimes Ibuprofen helps. I use the hot tub frequently, which does help as long as I go in at 102-103 for at least 20 minutes and try to really relax my legs, to the point where I can't really feel them unless I focus. I have the spray formula of the 024 Fibromyalgia. I know it's really strong smelling but it's one of the only things that relieves it enough for me to fall asleep. But my hips have been hurting so much at night that I sometimes can't even lie on my side, which is my normal sleeping position. I am also using the Lidoderm patch and that is helping some. I'll just slap one on that goes on my lower back, another cause of the intense pain and then spray the 024 spray and take my meds. Sometimes Percocet helps and other times my MMJ helps too. But you are correct, there is no ONE thing that really works each time. I'm just glad that I'm not alone in this, not to say that I want anyone else to be suffering from the same thing. If you figure anything out, please do share! And I'll do the same. I can't afford an MRI or anything like that at the moment so that's not really an option for me. I'm going to try to get a massage soon and also start some gentle yoga, which might help. My legs have always been in the best of shape compared to the rest of my body and as you said, I used to be extremely active with outdoor activities and sports and now things are very difficult. I thought that last week the pain was subsiding a bit but then I went riding this last weekend and fell off my horse when he spooked and it all flared right back up. Argh!! It is so frustrating!!! Guest guest
Same thing here . I used to get it something awful, after my sleep got completely trashed. My doctor told me that because I wasn't sleeping, my muscles weren't able to rest and relax which made them tight. Which made them painful, which interfered with my sleep, which made them tighter and more painful and so on. Over the counter stuff didn't work and neither prescription stuff like tramadol or Nuerontin. Codiene which i take for migraines helped, but you can't take that too long unless you want to become a addicted. So my Dr. (Dr Steve Lipschitz) @ the Fibro and Fatigue center in Philly) suggested lidocain patches. For about a 3 weeks I wore one a leg every night. During that time I got my sleep back on track. They still get tight every once in a while when my sleep quality goes down the hole or if I do a lot of walking, but doing some stretching before bed take s care of it. I do take tramadol for muscle pain during the day and Nuerontin to help muscle pain through the night and to for sleep. I hope this helps some. I'll pray for your legs to get better. This pain can come after weeks of rest or after a little activity. Pain killers do little to relieve it. Massage CAN sometimes help but it doesn't always. > > My question: WHY does the pain appear in that part of my body (upper leg)? When I am resting, my legs are still. Guest guest
The leg pain could be related to the way we walk. My physical therapist noted that my gait was off slightly when I walk as I tend to " hunch over " when in pain. My burning pains also have tingling which is neuropathic pain. I was taking Cymbalta for this 120mgs for a couple of years but it finally began to affect my mood so had to switch to Effexor. --- gr33nh4t wrote: > Same thing here . Guest guest
Hey , What is the name of the Chinese medicine that you are on for the leg pains? Guest guest
Think I finally figured out my pain. Saw a chiropractor today for free and from what I described he said it sounded like some sort of a pinched nerve from the way my hips were angled. So he adjusted both sides and now they feel better. No more severe shooting pains. It feels sore now but that is normal. So I'm happy about this and I " ll be getting this treatment once every 2 weeks So I highly recommend a chiropractor if you can afford/find one. Guest guest
Yes! Of course, I swear by the chiropractor and it helps me with pain and energy levels lots. Some folks are spooked by them ,though…gotta find a good one. Glad it helped you! Aylwin xox _____ Think I finally figured out my pain.
