Guest guest
The grassy taste is a sign of a high-quality milk. Since you know it's excellent milk, in my view, it's probably the best "medicine" you could give her. If she handles pasteurized, that's a good sign. They often give it to babies intolerant of anything else..... But you must decide. --Terry Hi everybody,I have been looking for quite a while for some milk and I finally got some on Saturday! It is nuibian goatmilk, located about 45 minutes away. I was eager to try some. It was nice and sweet and creamy, with a slight taste of what I would guess was alfalfa pellets or hay. These goats do not exist solely on grazing, because the climate they live in is pretty sparse. They do have free acess to hay though. I had some more on Sunday and today. No problems with digestion so far. I was wondering about something though. My three year old daughter spent the holiday with my parents mostly, because I had to work. She ate so much candy before I got there to intercept. My parents don't get it. I have to work on Sunday, and I have no other childcare options. By the time I got her home, she had a fever, and is still slightly feverish this morning. Any thoughts on giving her some of her first milk? On one hand I think the milk might help her, but if she is already feverish should I give her something she's never had before? She has had pasturized goatmilk with no problems. Guest guest
For what it is worth, I have 9 children and have no qualms about giving them raw milk if they aren't feeling good if they ask for it. If they are especially mucousy with a cold or something I like to encourage them to drink water or juice instead, though. Yogurt would likely be a better choice for a sick one, but like I said, we' ve given them milk just fine. Colleen
Guest guest
Thats good to know about the grassy flavor. I'm enjoying it myself. The children I saw at the place looked exceptionally healthy and sturdy. > >Reply-To: RawDairy >To: <RawDairy > >Subject: Re: found milk, should I give it to my feverish >daughter? >Date: Mon, 12 Apr 2004 14:00:44 -0400 > >The grassy taste is a sign of a high-quality milk.
