Dear Tbooomer,

Thanks for joining our new EN Group! Our numbers are really

starting to grow, and I feel quite optimistic that we will learn a

great deal from each other. We all bring something different to the

table so to speak. Not only do we all have slightly different

expressions of our EN symptoms, but have tried various treatments. I

don't know if we will find that one treatment is the " cure " . Whenever

I get a flare-up I can always point to a stressful situation that

triggered it. Keeping our bodies well rested and strong is good

advice no matter what our condition, in my own opinion. I was

impressed with your discussion of whole foods vs. supplements a while

back. I personally don't like to ingest anything I couldn't catch

myself. Veggies are easy! They don't run very fast.

By now you know that I have not prepared a " Welcome new member

letter " . I may go to that in the future if members I am not familiar

with from the old group join, but for now I feel I know you all

better than that.

I hope you have time to read the messages that have been posted.

There has not been a negative word said, and I promise that while we

may disagree, we will not stoop to name calling.

Have a great weekend!

Love,

I do rely strongly on nature's foods for my nutrition. I mean, it's

like you pointed out earlier, that as the years go by scientists

discover they were so wrong about larger doses of different vitamins

and minerals functions, often causing a patient group more harm than

good. And it changes every month. But with food, it's pretty cut and

dried. Everything that's needed to make use of the vitamins etc. is

packaged nice and neat right there in that carrot stick or banana. I

was reading my latest health newsletter today, and came across words

like phytochemicals, polyphenols, and flavanoids....all of which are

necessary keep our body in shape, but aren't found in supplements (at

least not any that I've heard of yet). I do think a daily multi-

vitamin is a good idea, especially considering the depletion of our

soils, etc. But to concentrate on one item in particular, such as

magnesium, I think there may be more benefit to eating foods rich in

that mineral than using a strong supplement. I try to keep up on

magnesium, potasium, selenium(which is much harder to measure because

it depends on the quality of soil), and calcium. But not for the EN,

for the Long qt....so maybe my EN was short lived because I already

had kept those (and many other) in check for the last two years. And

I am interested to see how those who try something similar come

through thier EN.
