Guest guest
Dan, I have (as you know) used BE and BMr software. I am now using BE exclusively. It is fully featured and includes integrated ability for feedback using Midi, Wave, MP3, and CD for audio, video formats include wmv, mpeg, avi and divx if you have installed the free codec, and DVDs although you do need to have either WinDVD or PowerDVD installed so their codecs are available to BE. Midi feedback can vary pitch and volume along with simple on/of. The video player can play forward and back (if you use frame numbers as the reference for playing) it. The Video and DVD player can use play/pause, volume, brightness and size as feedback options. Bandpass filter options are very flexible with the ability to select from a variety of filters and to modify each filter as well. The neuro amp is advertised as being ready for peripheral feedback, and has its own implementation of pIR HEG. At iSNR they were showing an HEG sensor of their own design. I am not sure how well BE in version 1.+ is set up to handle the peripheral feedback. I have not used this version of the BioTrace software. I have seen it demonstrated and was impressed with how worked. If I decided to go with peripheral feedback integrated with NFB I would most likely go with Nexus-4. THe only issue for me with the software is that it does not allow quite the flexibility I need to implement some the more advanced protocols I am using now. WaveRider also has some peripheral options. > I recently joined the list and read some older posts. Guest guest
, Thanks for the info. You've referenced my ramps several times as a way to move towards Roshi. Indeed, squash plus AVS ramps was a very specific effort to try to use the equipment I had to get as close as I could at that time to approximating Roshi without laying out any more money (for a Roshi) at the time. I never have gotten around to spending that money, but would still like to have one. I've been trying to determine if the other photostim add ons to BE, etc. will do something similar. Guest guest
Dan, QDS photostim can easily be made to work in a manner approximating Roshi. I use an algorithm based on some research I heard at iSNR in Houston a bunch of years ago. It does produce a complex flicker pattern and works very well with slow wave problems. A few people I know are also using it to approximate the old Flexxyx routine of offsets that Len Ochs created. Len has a patent on his manner of adding offsets so I have chosen not to do it that way. PhotoStim plus BE is a good cost effective way of doing eeg driven photic stim. There is the Nexis that runs with NCP and another unit also produced by PhotoSonics called neurointegrator which also runs with BE but the BE version with teh driver for it is not in general release. PhotoStim is nice as it allows for much more flexible use than the two other options out there today. > , > > Thanks for the info. > > You've referenced my ramps several times as a way to move towards > Roshi.
