And they started just before 8:00 pm on the 28th and continued all through the wee hours of this morning, the 29th.

Not that I am aware of. What e-mail application are you using? Contact me off the list if this continues to be a problem and we can troubleshoot. On 3/29/07,

I thought I was just crazy that I thought I was reading the same things over and over. I'm glad to know if I'm crazy, I have plenty of company!God Bless, Rosko "Too often have sins against humanity been justified in the name of 'justice' to women. Too often have we heard women claim to be working for 'women's rights' when they are actually working for 'women's wrongs.'" Helen Hull Hitchcock

I have also, but it was yesterday's messages that kept repeating; not these just now. And not just from this list, but also at least one other I am on! But mostly this list.

yahoo groups has been having server troubles on and off since February, and they

seem to have finally fixed them - but a side effect was that they spit out old

messages, duplicate messages, and so on.

Thanks Theresa,What I am getting is that the repeated messages error occurred yesterday and affected 10 or more of our members.I don't know the reason why, but if it is no longer a problem we can put this one to rest.

If there are any further issues, perhaps you all would not mind just e-mailing me off the list: dpicella@... and I will take care of it.I will say this... Yahoo does upgrade their software from time to time and sometimes events like this can be triggered. Also, depending on the e-mail service, a user can get on the " hard " or " soft " bounce list. A hard bounce occurs when an address is unrecognized or there is some other type of " fatal " error (

i.e., it appears that the box does not exists). In this case, the system is automated to put your account in a holding bin until you reactivate. You are never deleted just put on hold. A soft bounce is when there is an e-mail box, but the message can't get through or delivery is delayed for a long period of time. In these cases, the system will most likely make additional attempts to deliver. Sometimes a bunch of messages will go through.

I suspect there we are getting a bunch of soft bounces but I have no way to tell. We will have to wait a day or two and see. Every e-mail provider has server issues from time to time. Even Google has been known to go down about once a year for a brief period of time. The internet also works on a domain name system (DNS) which relies on the functioning of DNS servers and sometimes the DNS system (which is known to be flawed) doesn't do what it is supposed to.

Bottom line: lets keep an eye on the problem. It probably won't resolve for everyone at the same time as I have a feeling it has a geographic distribution on the internet channels.

It seems to have stopped on my end. The last message to repeat was the one I sent earlier this am asking if others were having this problem : )
