Took DD, almost 10 yo, to the doc today for her physical and get school forms

signed for meds, etc. She didn't do too well on her spirometry so back on meds

we go. Pulmicort turbuhaler 2x a day and claritin. We got lots of xopenex

inhalers so she'll be stocked up at school and home. She had fluid in her ears

so hopefully it's related to that. We'll go back in 3 weeks and re-check and see

the RRT.

*sigh* It just never seems to end does it?

But that's just it...this ISN'T the time of year for her. She has trouble during

winter. So having trouble now is very disheartening. Of course we are having

VERY bad air days here....worse than ever since I have lived here and that's

over 25 years. Yesterday and today are purple flag days. I have NEVER seen

purple flag days and it's kind of scary.

I am realizing that a lot of us that are asthmatic ourselves.... are the

ones posting to this list. There are other people on this list that are

here because they have close loved ones that have asthma. We need to

help those people too.

with the relativity of the new internet being that it is not new to the

younger people, I wish my mom had internet with this group when I was

having the severe asthma attacks...some 40 years ago!

Some of us with asthma that are 50 years plus. It has been not easy in

those early years. I am amazed at the new drugs, and am thankful for the

doctors that I have had to manage the asthma, or I would be posting to

this group with never ending stories of my pf's not being this or that.

The doctors have put me on a program of inhalers and singulair that I

must follow to a t...or I would be in trouble. I follow every

prescription to the letter. If you are having such problems, then you

need more professional help, or you are not taking your medicine as

prescribed.

my soap box is colored in my favorite color of blue.

I think too many people are obsessed with pfs jumping up and down, and

that alone will stir up an attack. Take your medicine as prescribed, and

if THEN you are wheezing go to the ER! If you are having pfs going up

and down, are you taking all of your medicine as prescribed? On the

hour, when prescribed? Inhaling properly the inhalers? Is not this

something you need to discuss immediately with your doctor?

is there someone else to help the other people on this list besides

tornadoes?

off of my blue soap box.

I've been saying for a while now,, things are alot worse now than they ever use to be, Ok, looks like the watch has been lifted from us, nothing major coming Thank heavens. Just some rain! SEE I scared it away when I turned that heavy table on the deck upside down and got everything ready for the storm. HA That's what I need to do from now on!
