There are really some desperate people out there searching for meaning in

there lives and those of us that are so very sick will try anything to get

better. It seems since Ghost Whisperer and a lot on these other shows everyone

is

a " Sensitive " .

I am a Christian and attended a very old well established church but

things really bothered me ( a lot )This get rich and everyone can be healed

if you only believe. I once told my pastor that I think I read a different

bible then the rest of you.... I read about how poor the apostles were, "

was locked up in prison, he was also bothered by some illness, got

sick and all suffered terrible deaths but " .

Well, needless to say it was not long before I was no longer wanted

but my point is, anyone that makes you feel bad about being sick, RUN as fast

as you can last thing we need is negative people in our lives. Your friend may

get past this new found thing when she gets hits with a bad flair and that

neighbor I would do without she sounds a little tilted//////, maybe a whole

lot tilted.. LOL

Hi Kula, well, you’ve just been multiply whacked by the New Age

Judgementalism…it has happened to many of us…and I do know what I’m talking

about! I have encountered this bullhocky so many times…whether it’s Louise

Hay, The Secret, or whatever the latest thought police fad is.

I live on New Age Island here…and I myself worked as a psychic and energy

healer for many years! BUT (and it’s a big but)…without “the attitude”. IMHO

anyone who tries to impose their ideas upon you, like they know about you

better than you do, is behaving with deep disrespect. We all have the right

to our own opinions about our experience! Anyone who talks but does not

listen is really just enjoying the sound of their own voice.

And you are so right, about it often being people who are not actually in

good health themselves, trying to convince themselves and everybody else,

that they have a handle on it. In fact, most of the people here who do have

ME or something like it are in such denial that, like your neighbour, they

project their own self-judgment about not being well onto others.

So, please do not take this stuff on! Anyone can run healing energy, these

systems are just way to do it – nothing to do with philosophy or morality or

belief system. In my extensive experience with multiple healers and my own

practice, what it REALLY does is reduce pain and increase a sense of calm,

clarity and relative well being…for about 48 hours. Nor harm in that…unless

the person doing it is in judgement. This is NOT the energy you want

directed towards you! And anyone who “sends” you energy without your prior

permission is being inappropriately invasive, thinking that they know what’s

best for you.

And ditto with the angel lady…again, she judged you from within her own

belief system, in a way that was NOT helpful to you, not asked for…all you

needed was someone to got to the library for you! That actually has nothing

to do with angels!

So, please my dear, do not take this stuff on, it is not yours, but be your

own best friend and support yourself, and do not accept that which is not

supportive into your life. XOX Aylwin xox

I am so glad to learn I am not the only one who sees red when someone

talks about the Secret, or " health and wealth " churches.

The other day I read a quote from a local pastor that said, " God is

interested in our being healthy, holy and happy. "

I went off on a tirade to my poor husband, which undoubtedly

contributed to a flare the next day.

I wish I could let it go, but I can't yet. I am just grateful I

belong to a church with a pastor who gets it.

Hi Kulia,

My library system delivers materials to the disabled by mail, maybe your

library has a similar program. They used to have a person who hand

delivered the items.

Toxic people are a major problem. I have little advice there except to

avoid when you can and ignore when you can't. I know I have trouble

dealing with others especially when I am not at my best emotionally. I

try to smile politely while I imagine myself doing or saying what I'd

really like to, which usually makes smiling easier.

Any questions ask, I'm not shy. Take care of you.

Big gentle huggles,

Thanks for the very healing response to this post Cat, Margaret, and

Aylwin!!! I was waiting for a week until it got posted, patiently

awaiting to see if it got posted and it did! It was helpful to just

write it down and process my own thoughts. And it's classic the

responses gotten to this particular post will help many ME sufferers

search for their own answers to the mysteries that lie within us.

Very healing posts!!! Thanks ladies!!!~Kulia

Kulia,

It's funny, some of the worst problems I've had with friends have been a result

of them projecting their own issues onto me. If this were a case of mind over

matter, wishing yourself well, or any of that sort of thing I would have been

better within six months. Same thing goes if it were a belief, thing. I had one

friend tell me I shouldn't " accept being sick " . Denial doesn't help, it doesn't

change anything. I accept that I have an illness, which enables me to deal with

it and seek treatment. I accept that it's possible that after so many years I

might not get better, but I also know people who have after 15yrs, so I

fervently hope that I will. It's tough dealing with people who get on the types

of kicks your friend is on, but at least it sounds like she cares about you.

You are so right Alia, denial definately doesn't help! Infact it's

downright dangerous!

For years and years I just tried to ignore being unwell, thinking

that I would eventually get better. When I finally did go to the

doctor, I took their advice to excercise. Now, after exercising, and

continuing to work fulltime, while going to uni I am much worse and

unable to work at all. My neurologist told me that I will probably

never get better. I agree with her, I think the damage is done now.

If I had listened to my body and rested, instead of ignoring things I

am sure I would be much better than I am.

I truly believe that accepting you illness is the first step to

getting some kind of life back.

take care, ness.

Ness,

?

Yep. My first reaction was denial. I was an athlete and none of this made sense.

I didn't even want to read about it. I forced myself into a physical rehab

program for athletes with injuries. I even went to summer ski camp. Actually I

think pushing myself to go to state championships for skiing after getting the

flu and hypothermia is what triggered this in the first place. I wish I had

tried a complete withdrawal from everything in the beginning. Maybe I would have

been one of those people who gets better in only 6 months. But I was an athlete

and on an intense academic program, I didn't know how to deal with this.

Hi Alia, that’s just it…anybody would just try to get on with their life as

you did…I had 2 small children at the time I fell ill and just could not see

any way to stop being a parent! But, and it’s a BIG but…if someone had told

you what you had and what it was necessary to do about it, in other words,

if you had received a proper medical diagnosis and correct treatment, you

probably would not be in your present situation. This is what infuriates

me…that the information is available, and for lack of it, you, me, and so

many have had our lives so much more deeply impacted than necessary…who

knows what would have happened had we all been given a proper diagnosis and

treatment, based on information known for many years? ARG! My son got ME, I

put him to bed against all accusations of school phobia and so on (this when

I was having to carry him to the loo), and 3 years later, he was recovered.

Period. TC, Aylwin xox
