Guest guest
Debbie -- thanks for that info from your perimenopause group. I am 32, but both my mom and her mom started menopause at 34 (yep, believe it), so I have been bugging the docs about this. My PCP tested my FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) and said there is no sign of early menopause.. but then I remember someone on here told me that test doesn't tell you a whole lot, so who knows. My periods are irregular too, so gonna keep bugging the docs about it. Take care -
Guest guest
that group is here in yahoo and it's called Beginning Menopause. The only thing about the group, well not really the group but with alot of suggestions from people in the group is to use and/or consume alot of soy. Well that just doesn't cut it for us with thyroid problems because we're supposed to stay away from that stuff. I bought a box of one of those herbal menopause remedies they've got out now...darn if I can even remember the name but there's quite a few of them around and didn't read the box before I bought it (shame on me) so I ended up giving it to the person that told me about it It was supposed to help stop the hot flashes associated with menopause. I'm thinking/doubting that I probably won't have that problem with hot flashes since I'm pretty much always cold...blanket, heating pad, sweater, and jacket at my desk gives most that indication at work because they keep it like a meat locker in that place! I do though experience night sweats occassionaly. Come to think of it I haven't even had any of those in awhile. Those were those " cold flashes " I was telling y'all about where I'd wake up in the middle of the night freezing cold with goose bumps from head to toe and would take me a few minutes just moving an inch at a time because the sheets where I wasn't laying would be so cold but my body was burning hot. Hey, ding dong, light bulb shining bright at the top of my head, maybe the increased dosage on the synthroid has stopped those? I can only hope! I know it took my mother about 10 years to finally get through menopause and she started early too...not as young as you are but not too much older then that if I remember right. That is another thing I can only hope for is that I do NOT act like she did when she was going thru the ol' change hehehe. Ok y'all...today was my half day off so it's nap time for me. Since I didn't stay at work so long and get my daily nap in my car at lunch, I'm heading that way now and catch me some zzzzz's ) Y'all take care and have a great weekend!
