Guest guest
Mellissa I tend to go on, if I am thinking I may need to nebulize YES it is probably time to do it! I dont know a time frame...you mean how long does the attack last? I guess til you break it! If it has been going on since Sunday it might be time to go to the dr<says me, I am terrible about dr's!> Dont wait to long though! Anita allergy test results So my allergy test results are apparently back and supposedly the single thing I am most allergic to is my cats. I dont buy it because I had the cats for 3 years before I moved to Florida and I did not have anywhere near the issues I have now. Ive had allergies all my life. Tree pollen & mold will trigger a flare up or attack alot faster than my cats have. I dont have a difference in my symptoms between being home and being away from the cats for a period of time. We were away from the cats for a week and a half last July after the wedding and I had the same symptoms I did before and after the wedding. He told me he wasnt going to suggest finding a new home for them and its a good thing b/c this is the only home one has ever known and one was dumped in a shelter once. Shes had anxiety issues ever since and I refuse to do that to her again. They are my babies and I will not give them up. For 5 yrs they have slept on my bed near my feet. I dont get red itchy puffy eyes after I touch them and touch my eyes. I dont react to them at all like I used to when I was young. In 1990s I was allergy tested and the results showed that I was least allergic to cats.He told me the reason that I only have problems during specific times of the year is because the other allergies put me over a threshold b/c the cats are keeping me at that threshold of what my body will accept. Fine, but when I didnt have cats the asthma was worst in Spring and Fall in NY...times of high pollen and high mold. It was no different after I had the cats. In two years here in Florida when the oak pollen is at its highest Ive found myself in the ER once and in Urgent Care the second year...(and that shouldve been the ER)He tried to tell me that I am not significantly allergic to anything else...but yet all my life Ive had significant environmental allergies. I dont understand.. ..I know allergies can change, and I know mine have...except for the tree/grass pollens and molds. These do and always have set me off. I used to get wicked bronchitis every single fall and spring for about 7 years straight during the 90s. Thats where the asthma diagnosis & active treatment came in. Got that under control and until I came to Florida I had bronchitis twice in 5 years( pre cat years btw). Since Ive been here 2 years Ive had bronchitis 2 times in 2 years.I dont know all the results b/c we only spoke over the phone. I have to schedule a follow up appointment so we can discuss it more thoroughly but Im devastated that my cats are whats supposedly my biggest problem. They did the Ig E blood testing vs skin testing btw.Anyway...thanks for letting me vent a little. Im really kind of upset. But I do know that I am NOT giving up my babies.Ann The Famous, the infamous, the lame - in your browser. Get the TMZ Toolbar Now! Guest guest
thanks Anita, I don't have a nebulizer yet, and I have these attacks and just wait until the brick goes away -- guess I should go to the doctors then. allergy test results So my allergy test results are apparently back and supposedly the single thing I am most allergic to is my cats. Guest guest
I used to do what you do/are doing. Eventually it did not get better, and more procrastination later I ended up admitted. Get to the dr and get a nebulizer. You might need steroids too..who knows..I was shocked the first time I needed steroids..I always thought, well I am not that bad yet. HAHA jokes on me! Guest guest
Hi . If you are still having asthma problems I would try the nebulizer. If it doesn't help I would call your dr. I hope you feel better. jean ---- M G wrote: > during an asthma attack, what is the typical timeframe to get rid of that tight feeling in your chest, I assume I am in the midst of one, I took my regular meds and have been using my quick inhaler, any other suggestions. Guest guest
If you use your rescue inhaler a few times and it doesn't get better that's when I usually go to the ER.
