His work underpins much of today's advertizing and pop culture, that is to say "sex, sex, sex, any kind, any way, any age." It was then easy to link those base urges with popularity, at least for a moment. Strip in front of a mob of strangers for their momentary applause or have sex with lots of strangers and think it is positive attention, etc. All Kinsey used by the libertines to reshape society in their image so to increase their power and number of potential victims, I mean "partners."
