To answer your question... It depends upon if your sister has extra chromosomes in her reproductive organs. There really is no way of knowing if the baby with have Down syndrome or mosaic Down syndrome until he or she is born. I can tell you that we do know several young ladies who have mosaic Down syndrome and their children do not. On the other hand, I know of one mother with mosaic Down syndrome who has children with Down syndrome. So, unfortunately, there is not a definate answer to your question, but I am very glad you have joined our family and I hope to learn more about you and your sister.
