Guest guest
I'm going to install a humanure toilet upstairs where there's no water available. I have the book. It's fantastic. I believe there's a web site that basically has the book on it. And it has some great photos of the toilets--some people get REAL fancy. :-) Samala, --who wants to get ducks next year, instead of chickens. I like ducks better, I think. :-) -------Original Message------- now, if anyone knows anything about humanure, if u that is gross, u can write me off list. Guest guest
About the Humanure and the toilet check out my site at http://www.keithmj.com/toilet.html I use these all the time and have also saved alot of water. Nothing gross about it. The idea about chickens is a good one. And why would we write you off the list? If you really want to enjoy nature to the fullest then work in the nude while taking care of the animals or working in the garden or yard, my wife and I are nudist and enjoy it..Cheers..mj Currently in St. sburg, Whitted, Florida Overcast, Lightning Observed 84.9°F(29.4°C) Wind:ESE (110°) at 25mph (22KT)All 50 states are listed across the top of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of a $5 bill.Created by Weather Signature v1.20 • http://www.weathersig.com
Guest guest
Does anyone have contact with chickens? I am having a terrible time today, and at this point I think I am going to end up in the ER tonight. For those of you who know my history, that means 8-10 days in the hospital. I am going to try one more cup of coffee and one more treatment before calling emtac, but generally once I get to this point....... I can't even cough - so tight. I have several factors going on today - minor chest cold/sinus drainage that I have been fighting for several weeks and a low pressure system coming through. My question about chickens - my dad has chickens (my parents and & I went in together on a large property. So I am in their front yard or they are in my back yard. However you want to look at it.) They are well away from the house. He has 10 just for the fresh eggs. I have helped feed and take care of the chickens before without a problem, but he left them out today and asked if I would get them back into the coop. I took my daughter to actually herd them and I stood at the door of the coop to keep them in until they were all in and we could shut the door. There is not a strong ammonia odor. The coop is regularly cleaned. Just wondering if something with the chickens helped to set this off. The pain really started while I was standing at the coop. Does anyone else care for chickens? Anyone know if there is a particular problem with chickens? Thanks Madeline
Guest guest
Is there any straw in the bins they sit in to lay their eggs? If so it could be the mold, Other wise Chickens are just like any dog or cat and have dander and if you have an allergy to it, this could have sent you off I will pray you don't go into the hospital tonight Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. ~Mother Teddy Bear's Early Learning Program Established August of 1992 chickens Does anyone have contact with chickens? Guest guest
There is, but it was just replaced yesterday. Also, I test negative to mold. So, that shouldn't set me off. Not like this anyway. By the way how the heck do you have an asthma " event " (the docs don't call mine attacks anymore since I have gotten to the point where I don't have gradually increasing symptoms anymore - I tend to just be ok then my lungs seize) when you are taking 52.5mg/day of steroids. I was supposed to step down to 50mg/day tomorrow for two weeks. What you want to bet they increase me again. AAARGH! Madeline > > Is there any straw in the bins they sit in to lay their eggs? Guest guest
Don't stress about the going back up on the steroids Madeline, you have been doing fantastic through all this, set backs are going to happen. I still say the chickens dander from them flapping their wings could have been what set you off. You let me know if you get admitted ok! You know we are to stay in close contact with each other on this stuff Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. Guest guest
Thanks Ann. You are right. I don't know what the exact ozone numbers have been the last couple of days, but I know that they have been high. Low pressure systems force it lower to ground level and concentrate it, and we have one hum-dinger of a low pressure system hanging around. Not supposed to clear out until Thursday. All I have to say is that we better get a lot of rain (bad bad drought) if I am going to have to deal with it. LOL. Also, in thunderstorms, lightning creates extra ozone. Madeline > > > Madeline,? > > Theres a good possibility that with the chest cold thing going on and weather changes that were up and coming (and are now here) you overtaxed yourself...even by just standing around.? If you dont react to mold or animal dander, Im not sure chickens actually give off dander however I could be wrong..I guess they might, the climate couldve easily been the culprit. > > With your situation, you lungs are weak enough that I doubt it would take a lot to set you off...even with the steroids.? Also...it would be interesting to see what the ozone counts for yesterday were in your area.? If your asthma was caused by a severe ozone reaction, if you were outside and the ozone was high, your body would react to it.? We dont think about ozone as much in the winter because we tend to think of ozone as being a summer danger...but its there all the time. > > Just a thought. > Im glad you didnt have to go to the ER and I hope you are getting more under control today. > > Ann >
