zinc--high in hair--low in blood

Hi all,

I just got back the results from DDI on hair and blood from my 4 1/2 year old son with PDD-NOS. We have not done any chelating yet and he takes a multi-vitamin daily. I just read the counting rules and the results seem to be abnormal.

A couple of things I'm confused about:

The zinc in the hair is 217 which is high (normal 100-190). The zinc in his blood measures at 4.55 (normal 4.2 - 8.1) so that is on the low side. What does this mean? His diet or multivitamin has not changed. Should I supplement the zinc? What is the best way to supplement--a non-tasting zinc liquid would be good--he weighs 40 lbs.

His magnesium is also low and he covers his ears often so I also want to treat that. What is the best way to treat magnesium deficiency?

His Antimony level is very high at .277. What does this mean? Where do you get antimony from? How do you get rid of it?

thanks for any advice.

If he is covering his ears when noises are heard and it is obvious that is the cause, you can either use Auditory Integration Therapy (AIT) or, what I suggest due to the cost, would be to use the EASe CDs that were designed by Mr. Mueller.

They are only $75 each and the principle is the same: the child wears headphones and listens to the music each day. You can use the EASe CDs longer than the AIT lasts.

AIT customarily costs between $700 to $1200. My daughter has had AIT four times and each time I bartered with graphic artwork rather tha paid cash.

If you put some thought into it, you can also barter for therapy services at times - even if you hired a graphic artist to design a logo or make a newsletter, it would be cheaper than paying for the AIT directly.
