The group organizes activities designed to promote interactions and exchange of information. The Interest Group has a Seminar Series (see Meetings) that meets at noon on the first Thursday of each month in Building 4, Room 433 (4th floor conference room) on the NIH campus. This is organized by Dunfee and Zane. Potential speakers should contact Drs. Dunfee and Zane. The Virology Interest Group sponsors the Norman P. Salzman Memorial Award and Symposium in November of each year. The Symposium is held in conjunction with the presentation of the Annual Norman P. Salzman Memorial Award, which recognizes outstanding accomplishments by a post-doctoral fellow or research trainee at NIH working in the field of virology. Last year's Award and Symposium, the tenth anniversary, was held on Thursday, November 13, 2008, in Natcher. Messages can be posted to members of the Virology Interest group through the NIH listserv, NIHVIG-L@.... The organizers of the Virology Interest Group are Kuan-Teh Jeang (NIAID) and Carolyn (FDA).
