Does anyone know if you need to register with the Feds in order to

legally resell NaOH and KoH in the States? I haven't been able to

find anything on the FDA site.

I'll be forever grateful to anyone who can point me in the right

direction!

As you are aware, Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) and Potassium Hydroxide (KOH)

are classified as " hazardous materials " .

Since these hazardous materials will be stored in your workplace and

will be sent to another workplace, you should familiarize yourself with

the Department of Labor's Occupational Safety & Health Administration

(OSHA) regulations. The OSHA home page is

You may want to contact a local or regional OSHA office for help.

Since there could be an accident with these hazardous materials, the

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) might be involved. The EPA home

I would definitely call your state EPA office for additional

information. You may be required to register.

And since you will be shipping hazardous materials around the country,

the Department of Transportation (DOT) will be involved. The DOT home
