My biggest concern would be the alkaline pH of the soap on the dog's

skin. Apparently a dog's skin is quite sensitive. You could do a few

experiments to see what happens. Perform " half dog " shampoos. Shampoo

one side of the dog with your CP soap and the other half with a

national brand baby shampoo. I would repeat this experiment on a few

different breeds.

Check the dogs skin after one, two and three days. Compare the two

sides of the dog skin looking for signs of irritation.

Hi Deb,

Please beware of using tea tree on dogs. The international society of

professional aromatherapists recently suggested that the application of tea

tree oil (often found in shampoos and lotions) might cause adverse reactions

in dogs. Other studies indicate possibility of similar reaction in cats and

horses.

Here's a site that has some info on using oils with dogs:

have to cut & paste to get the ampersand in the address).

Happy New Year!
