Guest guest
not using NPs here NP's seeing and billing patients. Good morning, Our NP's (Nurse Practitioners) will soon start seing our patients when they come for their initial consultation, and when they come for the Post-Tx annual visits. They will be able to bill for those visits, too. Of course the MD will still meet with patients prior to surgery. My questions: is any Tx center doing it? How do you you bill the consults? Do patients who have HMO's need to bring a Referral? If so, would it be made to the NP or the Tx Center, as they will be billing using the Hospital Tax ID. Guest guest
HI, As far as Nurse Practitioners and any other " advanced Practice " individual, the general rule is that if they are an employee of the hospital, they can not bill for pretransplant evaluation services especially if their salary is included in the pre transplant departments. If you want to utilize a advanced practice individual, the best bet is to have them as a member of the physician practice and have them working under their supervision, etc. As far as post transplant goes, just stay aware of billing rules for advance practice individuals. Hope this helps, Bill At 10:20 AM 4/22/2004, you wrote: Good morning, Our NP's (Nurse Practitioners) will soon start seing our patients when they come for their initial consultation, and when they come for the Post-Tx annual visits. Guest guest
Thank you Bill. Would you include PA's under "advanced Practice" individuals? I have remarked some of our group's messages do not go through the hospital firewall. Sorry if I missed to thank anyone else.
