Guest guest
Thanks Kristy for the signing time info. I wanted to comment on signing for new parents out there who are thinking of using it. I just recently started using it with my two boys, specifically for my older son who is almost 3 and has a speech delay. I can't believe how beneficial it has been. Before signing, my older son would try to communicate with us and would get frustrated with us because we couldn't understand him. We would go through a long list of yes/no questions before figuring out what he wanted. Not to mention he had one word for several items (i.e., " wawa " stood for baby, water, brother, doggy). This created a lot of anger/agression on his part and ours. Finally, my other son's therapist (who is now his therapist too) recommended trying sign language. WOW!!! What a difference. He is so excited he can communicate with us. He uses sign whenever he can (even when not necessary) and especially loves showing me " please " and " thank you. " It's so neat. And our little house is much quieter. I highly recommend it for other families. Krysten mom to 1 (mds) and 3 Signing Time on PBS Hi Everyone, Signing Time video will be running a series on PBS in January. I have heard that they are really great, so this may be something you will want to tape to keep. The press announcement is on there site. http://www.signingtime.com/pressroom/stationcarriage.html Kristy
