Guest guest
I just received a packet from this place in the mail yesterday. They're a compouding pharmacy but sent alot of good info about bioidentical hormones. They sent me a bunch of names of doc's that prescribe the bioidentical hormones of which one of them on the list, I was able to find by calling one of the compounding pharmacies here and was given his name. Thing is that he's practices " natural " medicine so my insurance wouldn't pay for it and I can tell it would be very expensive to go to him from what I read on his website....he has " payment plans " so that's what tipped me off that it's gotta be pretty expensive. Here's his website: http://wunderlichcenter.com If you go to the link of Health Concerns there is a drop down box and you'll see a list of different " conditions. " This is what he says about hypoT and Hashi's: Hypothyroidism This common condition must be aggressively sought out because, untreated, the lives of untreated hypothyroid patients are much more difficult than they need to be. Nevertheless, treatment misapplied is equally horrendous. Careful evaluation of family history, physical examination, and laboratory assessment of blood fats is helpful. Standard blood tests of thyroid function are a good place to start, but, when they are " normal " in the face of other data indicating the liklihood of hypothyroidism, then other evaluation tools are needed (this is a long discussion which will not be rendered here). Treatment may be in the form of natural therapies or a variety of prescription drugs. Fixed belief-systems that argue for the use of a single type of treatment agent are not satisfactory for all. Hypothyroidism may be genetic, due to dietary deficiency or due to toxic states; it commonly occurs as a result of autoimmune thyroiditis. (see also Hasimoto's Disease) Hashimoto's Disease Persons who are clearly hypothyroid can improve that state by diligent efforts in nourishment - diet and supplements - exercise, body calming, detoxification, etc. Rarely, however, is hypothyroidism reversed today by " natural " means. That probably stems from the toxic nature of the world today, the nutritional status of most citizens, and the prevalence of infectious factors (viruses, yeasts, etc.) in the origin of Hashimoto's disease (autoimmune thyroiditis). Persons who persist in beating the dead horse of natural correction of hypothyroidism must know that blessed relief usually ensues when proper hormone replacement therapy is administered.
