Guest guest
Hi Candy---Sounds like Central Hypothyroidism. Your pituitary would ordinarily be sending out signals to your thyroid to make more T4 and T3. The hormone that it sends out to do this is TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone). YOU don't have enough lab info to tell what is going on with your thyroid because the FREE T4 and FREE T3 tests were not done. I do not understand why doctors do not want to run these tests, particularly with Central because those are the only tests that will tell exactly what the thyroid itself is actually doing. In your case, it's even worse because it is getting no signals to make it. Doctor doesn't sound like he knows what he's doing here, or has he scheduled more tests for you? You're definitely hypo, and if things don't change with this doctor VERY rapidly (like now!), you need to find another doctor. Texas (no subject) Hi everyone,I try and keep up with all the emails but sometimes I just cant.I have Hashimotos......been diagnosed with it for several years, and have always been on synthroid.......started out at 125...went to .75....than on .50 for years....I finally talked my doc into increasing it back up to .75......which he did, and at first I felt great.....I got a call from his office, and they wanted me to drop down to .25....he explained my pituary gland was not sending out the signals ( what all this means is I have NO idea)......my last test results were.T4 was 1.8TSH was 0.04........he said since I felt better, he wouldnt drop my dosage....BUT now, I am back to where I was before.....so exhausted I cannot stand it, my house is a mess, making a lot of mistakes at work, cant think clearly....and I am having a lot of severe swelling....I can feel it in my face, my arms, my hands, and the past two weeks, severe swelling in my legs.....the doc had given me water pills, and that seems to help but it isnt this time...I also seem to be losing some of my lower eye lashes....HELPCandy
Guest guest
Hi Guys can anyone tell me where or in our site information can I find advice or a list on weekly menu info, foods to avoid or just plain old general advice, nothing too confusing. All I think I need is Australian info. There's so much out there and an awful lot from American [we eat differently] I think I'm getting brain overload.
