Guest guest
Hello everyone. I am new to the group. My name if Felicia Elizondo and I am with Christus Transplant Institute in San , TX. I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. I have a patient that started dialysis on 02/16/04. I have been able to verify that her medicare will become eff on 05/01/04. Do we have to wait until may to start her kidney transplant eval or can we start it now? Guest guest
HI, There are three " documents " involved. http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/get-cfr.cgi?TITLE=42 & PART=405 & SUBPART=U & \ TYPE=TEXT http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/get-cfr.cgi?TITLE=42 & PART=405 & SECTION=21\ 02 & TYPE=TEXT/ http://www.cms.hhs.gov/manuals/pub07pdf/AP-d-i.pdf The third Item starts with standards for portable x-ray services. Somewhere around page 60, you will find the section on Survey procedures for ESRD facilities. Hope this helps, Thanks, Bill At 10:39 AM 5/19/2004, you wrote: >does anyone out there remember the website to go to to view the esrd >guidelines for the facility. i thought bill said it was on CMS. i just don't >know where to go from there. i wasn't to print out the booklet to make sure >we are in compliance with Medicare. > > >Hercynia () Nimmo >Financial Counselor >ville Transplant Center >ph fax > > > > > >

Guest guest
This is for " ESRD " facilities, hospital based and outpatient. Kidney transplant centers have recently been " formally " classified as ESRD facilities for survey purposes (they have been ESRD facilities all along but have only recently been surveyed as such). If you are a Kidney transplant center, they can apply the standards to your facility. Hope this helps, Thanks, Bill At 04:47 PM 5/19/2004, you wrote: >is this for dialysis centers only or for outpatient transplant facilities as >well? > > Re: Medicare > > >HI, > >There are three " documents " involved. > >http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/get-cfr.cgi?TITLE=42 & PART=405 & SUBPAR >T=U & TYPE=TEXT > >http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/get-cfr.cgi?TITLE=42 & PART=405 & SECTIO >N=2102 & TYPE=TEXT/ > >http://www.cms.hhs.gov/manuals/pub07pdf/AP-d-i.pdf > >The third Item starts with standards for portable x-ray >services.
