Combine this with the studies that show smart people have larger brains and things make some sense. Perhaps autism is after all the result of the brain trying to develop greater intelligence. However, since high IQ is still something of a fluke in humans, its having trouble developing. Even with high IQ's mate, even those with AS, the genes still haven't quite caught up yet so autism happens. Add to that the abuse and shunning many smart kids get and how that affects the brain and there you go.

Interesting:Not onlys are some smart kids shunned and abused BUT those who are 'different' for example asocial or 'shy,' are even more abused.rl 'My cat Rusty is a servant of the Living God....'adapted from a poem by SmartTo:

And that abuse would likely make a shy person even more withdrawn or perhaps even get them thinking about getting even with their tormenters. The if they actually do something back against them, they will get all the blame, not the bullies.

"...if they actually do something back against them, they will get all the blame, not the bullies."Yes, most authority figures don't seem to care about what provoked the seeming rebellion on the part of the loner. The few times I tried to stand up for myself against my peers in elementary school, I was the one who was rebuked. Some of it may have been because I chose the 'wrong time' to speak up or???In Grade 5, the teacher asked 2 of us to hand out supplies. Although i was a klutz, I was also task oriented, so did my share (as I saw it) while my 'partner' goofed off. When I thought I had

done my 'half' and was not willing to bail out my 'lazy' classmate, I returned to my chair and sat down. Teacher asked ME why I was not continuing to hand out the supplies, I politely but firmly stated that I had done my share while my classmate was goofing around. The teacher said BUT the students need their supplies, and ordered me to continue helping.Incidents like that did not lead me to become fond of human interaction, and I grew to HATE group projects, as I was studious, and some of my classmates not so much. Along with my dysfunctional my family of origin, what I saw as discrimination against my personality have probably led to me having a strong sense of justice and injustice, not just as

it pertains to me but if I think some one else is being discriminated against.rl 'My cat Rusty is a servant of the Living God....'adapted from a poem by SmartTo:
