I've been reading about LDN.

I have Lyme, severe Fibro and Chronic Fatigue, multiple auto-immune challenges,

and ongoing weight gain and cravings. Currently on prozac.

Read that LDN causes worsened irritability, fatigue and loss of libido. Same

with pristiq.

Are you on either? What doses? What has your experience been?

Goal is to stop cravings, lose weight, lessen pain and improve mood.

Thanks for your time!

Lori

Hi All,

I'm quite new here too. I'm a 39 year old who has been told she has

Fybro ( not sure though if the doc got it right to be honest) and have

been looking into chia seeds recently via an anticandida blog. I'm

hoping to get some this weekend and give them a try along with flax

seeds ( I ate those by the gallon load when I was expecting my

daughter!) hope it helps with my fatigue :(

also, can I ask a question about when and how you were diagnosed? has

anyone been on steroids and/or antibiotics prior to diagnosis? I'm sure

there is a link with steroids and antibiotics and fybro/ME/CFS any one

agree?

Shari

Hi Shari,

Sorry I'm getting back to you late. I was diagnosed by a blood test for the

epstein barr virus...gee...it must be 4 or 5 years ago.  I had first diagnosis

of lyme in 1989, then in 1992..the last time I was on intervenous antiobiotics

for 2 weeks..it's so long ago.

Hmmmm Yes all the treatments with antibiotics may have had some impact on the

cfs... I'm not sure. Even though I follow a pretty strict food plan now..I still

have symptoms, and I think when I have them I'm more scared by that..feeling

like I just want to get away from everyone and take a long nap..but I

can't,,especially at work. I see people in their 80's with more energy than I

have sometimes..but my dr. said there's not much to do right now with it..so I

seek my own healing..trying new things etc. When I'm not feeling the symptoms..I

don't remember how crummy I felt..but going through it so depressing.  It

passes though Thank God. The one time with the lyme treatments it took about 2

years for me to get back to having some normal days.

Yes I love the chia seeds, and I use flax meal too! all the good foods can

only help.

I've learned the hard way about the white stuff..sugar, flour, gluten, junk

food, candy etc

it really makes me miserable now, even though I crave it at times.

I will have some dark chocolate every so often.

talk to you soon!

Hi Lori,

It was treated in the beginning with oral antibiotics, then intravenous for a

couple of weeks.  It's been a long time since I was diagnosed with lyme. My Dr.

did do a recent test...to see if I'm having acute symptoms? But the test was

okay.  I suffer more from the effects of the chronic fatigue. Lyme was diagnosed

in the 1990's.

Thanks,

Hi Shari,

I was never on steroids or antibiotics prior to diagnosis of my FMS/CFS.  I've

been diagnosed for 15 years now...

Don't think that there is a link.

Lynn
