Guest guest
try to meditate your asthma attack off, maybe take a yoga class and become centered understand what is going on and learn to breathe, you won't need your medicine. Subject: RE: XanaxTo: asthma Date: Friday, November 7, 2008, 7:08 AM Yes I take it, and if you ONLY use it during the attacks it won't be addicting, My PCP actually put me on it originally for panic attacks when I was going through some intense Therapy a year ago. Then he told me to use it during the onset of my attacks, it helps to prevent me from panicking during an attack so infact it stop it from being worse than it could be. Sounds like it's not uncommon. I get a 3 month supply to take twice a day and only use it now if I'm panicky or an attack, so come time to refill I always still have more than I need. Guest guest
I can't speak to anxiety during an asthma attack as I have never had anything that I would categorize as one. However, I can speak to the meditation. During my bout with Supra Ventricular Tachycardia (SVT) I learned how to focus on what was happening in my body, breath and calm myself down. One of the first times I had an SVT attack I was on a bed in the ER, my pulse was hitting 260, and at that point the cardiac monitors weren't able to detect my heart rate very well. Being thirteen years old, on a hospital bed stuck with an IV and having cardiac monitors coding out and setting off alarms was a bit scary... However, one positive thing that came out of these spells was the ability to be very aware of what was going on with my body. Although breathing and meditating never worked to break a spell of tachycardia, it was extremely helpful with the anxiety. I was pretty surprised at how much just simple breathing worked to calm me down. It got to the point that the docs would have me hooked up to a monitor and just by breathing and going to my " hapy place " I could lower my pulse from around 100 down to around 70-80. Meditation sure is a powerful way to manage anxiety... > > From: Terry soccer.mom@... > Subject: RE: Xanax > To: asthma > Date: Friday, November 7, 2008, 7:08 AM > > > > > > > > Yes I take it, and if you ONLY use it during the attacks it won't be addicting, My PCP actually put me on it originally for panic attacks when I was going through some intense Therapy a year ago. Guest guest
Hi , I try so hard to keep from panicking, but it is so hard when you cannot breathe. I put a Xanax under my tongue and then have to go outside in the cool air to calm my breathing. (Stuffy hot places make me worse!) I wish I could just allow the inhaler to work and not panic, but I have attacks so infrequently that I never really have a chance to learn how to work through it. However, now is my bad time of the year. I have one attack about every few days, so I can work on meditating through it. I hope it works! If I can just keep bronchitis and chest colds away, that would help tremendously! My doggie is one year old today and we are having a birthday party for him. LOL I know, I know, I am goofy. :-)

Guest guest
Terry. I usually put it under my tongue to let it melt. It gets into your system faster. Tastes nasty, but I am used to it now. It is ok to do. Cheryl Burton ncicheryl@... Guest guest
Hi Terry, My doctor told me to put it under my tongue. He said since I am taking in the middle of an astham attack it would get into my system quicker and help me faster before I panic. It really does work faster that way! Tastes nasty, but it helps. If I was taking it on a regular bais, I would not do it that way, but since I take it right in the middle of an attack, it helps more that way. > > , who told you to put that xanax under your tongue? it's suppose to > be swallowed whole > > > Terry > > Head Coach to the Chaney Bull Dogs > I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. Guest guest
that sounds like a lot in my older days....they told me to take acid under my tongue because it would react quicker....probably the same thing goes to high tech medicine tabs...they absorb better under the tongue. dunno, love, Cindi Mc wrote: > > Hi Terry, > > My doctor told me to put it under my tongue.
