Guest guest
Hi Greg I'm with Ali - go for it!! To get this far it is definately well deserved!!!Personally, I have had both the tummy tuck (hip to hip and muscles tightened) as well as the inner thigh lift. Both were done at the same time on 1st May this year. It was a 9 1/2 hr op - so quite major. My recovery was fairly normal considering what I had done, although I was definately knocked for six!!!Seven months on and I love my new tummy and my cute belly button!!!! The scars are healing really nicely and will fade to nothing. With my legs I have got a pretty good result compared to what I had. The scar at the top of my leg has widened a little so my surgeon isn't as wrapped with the results as he is with the tummy and wants to do revisiony surgery on it. We'll probably combine it with my next proceedures though. Next I plan on having my arms done (although still very concerned about the visibilty of the scars, as well as breasts!Good luck with whatever you decide.Kathy SydBand Messages In This Digest (2 Messages) 1a. Re: Tummy tuck>Greg Posted by: "Ali Rayward" alisonll@... alibander7308 Sun Dec 12, 2010 12:03 pm (PST) Go for it Greg. It was the best decision I ever made. I am cut from hip to hip with my abdominoplasty. I have a reconstructed belly button, and although while healing it doesnt look like yours, you soon forget what you used to look like! This is your reward for all your hard work. ....Ali To: SydBand From: xrvgreggmail Date: Fri, 10 Dec 2010 22:34:55 +1100 Subject: Tummy tuck well, went to the plastic man yesterday, interesting. He thinks Im a good candidate and should end up with a reasonably flat tummy. He was surprised that seeing how much Ive lost & hiow much loose tummy skin I have that my back/bum/chest are actually OK ( Im surprised too) and I dont need a ring bark(body lift). He suggested a radical adominoplasty as I have a mild seperation of my tummy muscles which would be fixed with that but said I wouldnt need a vertical cut (fleur De lis) which I thought I might need. Might be a problem with my belly button though, as it doesnt seem to be anchored to the underlying tissue anymore which means it could be a problem. They usually cut around the button , leaveing it anchored to the underlying tissue and pull the skin around it and stich it back in position. With my BB being unanchored thats not an option and he said its very hard to make a new BB so I might end up without one  . No probs apart from asthetics, look like I wasnt born but made in a test tube haha... :-) My inner thighs are pretty loose but he wasnt keen on doing them as he reckons its a problematic procedure and often doesnt give good results, dont know if I'll worry about them, the tummy gets in the way of stuff as well as being an asthetic issue but the thighs are really just for asthetics, they dont bother me apart from that. Looks like I'd be $8000 - $10,000 out of pocket , got to check with my PHI provider to be sure. Now just got to decide if I really want to do it.
