If you are thinking it might be seizures you need to have a 24 hour EEG done

to find out. Have you seen a neurologist. Our neurologist said they should be

done at least once a year if you are suspecting seizures.

Yes we are seeing a neuro. We have an appt soon to discuss this. He is

currently on Celexa. Would this be a problem with seizures? Does anyone

know?

Reading some very old posts, trying to catch up...EEG tests for seizure

activity. The staring spells sound like absence seizures. Many sleep after

seizures, but I hadn't heard of a connection with throwing up.

My son used to throw up all the time when he had seizures, and then fall asleep.

We don't have that problem but my niece did. She is not AS (or at least un-diagnosed) and she has been on Adderall for 2 years. She never had the seizures before the Adderall, your son wasn't on that when it happened was he?

-Charlotte

Seizures??

Was wondering if anyone in the group knows wether seizures could possibly be related to AS? I'm asking because my 13 yr old son used to have them years ago,(A very mild form). He only would have them during REM sleep and only 2 or 3 a year and they only lasted about 30 seconds. They were Grand Maul seizures. He had this for about 2 years from age 7 until 9. Then they went away and he was taken off the tegratol. He hasn't had one in about 4 or 5 years now. I just found it to be strange. The neurologist said he had a seizure disorder but didn't know about AS. His therapist said it may be possible that persons with AS get seizures but she didn't sound to certain. I haven't read anywhere that this is a possible symptom. It may not even have been related, but I am just curious. Does anyone here have a child with AS who has had or has seizures?

Hi ,

There is a greater level of epilepsy in the autistic population than the

general one, but I'm not sure of the figures. I don't think anyone knows why

either.

in England

My son never was medicated on anything before the seizures started. Just his immunizations. (Gee, I Wonder)!!!! Glad he doesn't have them anymore, maybe it was just a young childhood thing he has outgrown. designs <scottdesigns@...> wrote:
