Guest guest
I agree with the recent posts regarding the unfairness of a three year statute of limitatons for vaccine injury compensation through the Vacine Injury Compensation Program. I believe that Babraba Loe Fisher with the National Vacine Information Center has proposed several reforms to the VICP, one of which would extend the filing time to the age of majority of vaccine injured children. It seems I heard something about these proposed changes being approved last fall by Dan Burton's Gov't. Reform Committee but I have not been able to find out where in the legislative process the issue now stands. I have drafted some letters to the legislators from my part of the country but would like to incude any information on upcoming hearings that would impact this. If anyone can update me on where the proposed refroms stand, I'd really appreciate it. The folks with the VICP inform me that the only way these changes can be enacted is through Congressional action. I would urge anyone interested in this issue to correspond with their legislators. Thanks, Rita
