Sorry to hear about your bad reaction to transpore, Diane. I'm also very sorry

if I've misled people into believing that I was suggesting that transpore is an

anallergenic (ie not allergic reaction inducing) thing. By referring to

transpore as hypoallergenic (ie low allergic reaction inducing thing) I was

trying to say that it is less likely to induce an allergic reation in people.

Have you taken your grievance with your surgeon and his team further? It might

prevent it happening again if you ever have to " use the facilities " again.

Take care of yourself,

Siel

Diane,

I hear ya about the tape issue. I have very sensitive skin and

can't use anything but paper tape or it rips my skin to shreds.

When I had shoulder surgery in January, they bandaged me with huge

strips of this latex or neoprene tape (not sure exactly what it was,

but it was rubbery and spongy feeling). When the bandages came off

the next day, so did a layer of my skin! I have extra scars that

weren't supposed to be there after surgery because of it! I thought

regular surgical tape was bad, but this stuff was horrible! It

stuck like glue to my skin. My orthopedist was even shocked when he

saw what it did...I still had the wounds 10 days later when I went

for my follow-up. I'm just glad there was gauze covering the

majority of my shoulder! OUCH!!!
