Guest guest
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer me. I have a question about a woman that underwent a total hysterectomy last month for what the doctor's thought might have been uterine cancer. Thanks be to God it was endometriosis with no cancer at all. The oncology GYN she has been seeing has put her on a combination estrogen/progesterone hormone for 3 months to " get rid of any leftover endometriosis " . She is to stop taking it after the 3 months and start on estrogen-alone therapy. She doesn't like taking it because she feels as if it's basically a birth control pill and was wondering if you knew to what extent my risk of breast cancer goes up with taking it for a short time. Of course, the doctors' alway tell you the benefits outway the risks, but I haven't been able to find any statistics on this. s, FCP
