Guest guest
December 10th [ ] Month of birth? Hello all, I'm sure this has come up before, but I'm very interested in finding out which month of the year your autistic child was born in? Several studies seem to suggest that a remarkably high proportion of children with autism are born in March. The speculation is that, if a specific pathogen is involved in causing autism, then this pathogen could be more prevalent during the early winter and would affect March babies during early pregnancy. I am fully aware, of course, that at least one study has come up with a completely different time of year - the summer - as a frequent period for births of autistic children, which is why I am wondering what you out there can tell me? Guest guest
Today was my son's birthday. He was born March 22, 1988. I know of two other children with autism that my son has gone to school with who were both born in March, one in the same year. Guest guest
This is very interesting that you post this, I suggested a poll on this very subject on another list, because I had spoken to so many parents who's children were born in March. I had no idea there was any study done.
