My son spiked fevers all the time at night for months on end. At the time we were too involved with the autistic symptoms and weren't thinking biological causes, over 5 years ago.

[ ] FEVERS, FOR NO APPARENT REASON!

Hi, Does anyone's child get fevers for no apparent reason. My son gets a fever every couple of months or so, he misses school and nothing ever comes of it. He does not get a cold, not even a runny nose. Nothing. I don't get it. He has it now. Over 103, then it will just disappear like it was never there to begin with. Also, my son gets cold hands and feet lately. All the time he is like this unless he's wrestling or something. He was never this way before. This has been happening now for about 3 weeks. Any ideas about these things???? Sal's mom =======================================================

Cold hands and feet often accompany mercury poisoning or thyroid issues (or

both). Fever is the body's way of burning up " nasties " or various sorts, but

dangerous if over 104.

Joyal , DDS in " Mercury Toxicity from Dental Fillings " lists cold hands

and cold feet under common symptoms of mercury toxicity. Sam Ziff also lists it

in " The Toxic Time Bomb " . I'm sure it's also in " It's All In Your Head " by Hal

Huggins, DDS. I experienced it and assumed it was hereditary because both my

mother and my maternal grandmother had cold hands and feet (Disovered they both

had/have heavymetals toxicity!).

Sorry, put this post to the wrong person. Just asking another opinion, but not

to the group. , can you tell me where you have seen this?

Allan,

Some woman emailed me this when I asked about fevers, cold hands and feet. I don't know if I've seen these symptoms associated with mercury. I wonder why she thinks this.

Cold hands and feet often accompany mercury poisoning or thyroid issues (or both). Fever is the body's way of burning up "nasties" or various sorts, but dangerous if over 104.

Hi ,

I pasted the text (from ) that I think you are asking about here:

but dangerous if over 104.

Of course, I'm not , but 's statements sounded okay to me.

Which part were you asking for more info about: the cold hands/feet, or

the fever ??

best,

Moria

,

Did you know that the sweat glands on the soles of your feet and palms of your hands are stimulated independent of other regions?

do his feet/hands get clammy? It may be due to increased sweating of feet and hands and suggest that an Adrenergic receptor (a1) is working to compensate for a problem with Muscarninic (named after the mushroom poison: Muscarnine which mimics ACh) receptors, they are maybe being blocked or understimulated, which may account for the temperatures. Circulation problems may also cause this. Acetyl choline (ACh) stimulates both Nicotinic and Muscarninic receptors but Nicotine stimulates N receptors only and Muscarnine stimulates the M receptors only. As intestinal & acid secretions are semi dependant on M receptors this could account for many observed symptoms and the efficacy of Secretin which is dependant on acidic Chyme entering the Duodenum. a1 actually inhibits gastric secretion via vasoconstriction!

If the sweat glands are 'off' for some reason then temperature control is tricky, the Hypothalamus plays a major role in this and is dubbed the Body's Thermostat. I'm just suggesting that it may have a lot to do with increased Sympathetic Nervous System activity (Fight-or-Flight) and compromised Parasympathetic nervous system, and as ACh is a big player in the CNS this may account for some of the autistic symptoms I presume you are also observing. It is a good clue as to what may be going wrong, ACh is degraded by Acetyl-cholinesterase, this enzyme (or maybe it is Butryl-cholinesterase) is inhibited by Mercury. I'm reckoning that this inhibition causes the general magnitude of stimulation to be increased and specific stimulation to be decreased, in this instance I propose that M receptor sensitivity is down regulated and a1 & N receptors left intact which, (owing to our understanding of what Nicotine does) gives a mixed bag of results.

If Owens is reading, she may be interested in the fact that the a1 receptors also promote contraction in pregnant women and as such presumably has an Oxytocin connection which she posted about in last few weeks. other roles a1 has include decreasing urine volume, slight constriction of brain arterioles, dilation of pupil, skin and MUCOSAL arterioles. a2 Inhibits the secretion of digestive enzymes and the hormone insulin (in this respect it seems to oppose Secretin, Secretin and Insulin belong to same family of hormones).

To gain a full understanding of the systems involved, takes more time than I have been able to spend but, if you feel that this fits then it may be a starting point. I have noticed similar problems (inc. hot hands) in my child but not regularly. If he is doing most of his sweating from his feet and hands, then detox by sweating elsewhere may also be decreased. There seems to be a wealth of knowledge out there and an extensive range of pharmaceuticals to manipulate such systems. I do not think this can be ruled out as a possible consequence of Mercury.

Much of the information here from "Principals of Anatomy and Physiology", 9th Ed. but not the conclusions.

Jon .
