Guest guest
While I was going through the conference notes that were taken and shared by some of the attendees from our chat site, I thought it would be good to re-send one of them. This one was from Kiki. She did a very nice job of summing things up. ********************** Just got back from LDN conference and my head is spinning. I will try to point out what I can remember off the top of my head for now. I am sure more will be written by our 4 wonderful members who also were on the Agenda and spoke from there heart and contributed their info to all there. You all know them from posts Joyce F, Sedlock, Sammy Jo(ldners.org) and Boyle Bradley(Up the Creek with a Paddle & Nobel.com) We should all be grateful for the work they have done to help promote LDN..........Thank you ladies !! Now...... Dr. B was not able to attend but a recording was presented from him about how this all came about. Dr. Gluck spoke of how he grew up with Dr. B and while most boys were playing ball, Bernie was talking about atoms and science and how they could oneday make adifference in the world (while he was in the 5th grade) Even then Dr. B was ahead of his time. 1.Key points for now....Crohns trial results from Penn State cannot be revealed until they are released for publication but...Dr.Jill conducter of trial was called about results and she was very excited about results(hinted they are great). 2.Dr. Mir from Germany from the Evers Klinik reported that the 3mgsLDN was given at 9AM to Secondary Progressive and Primary Progressive with 5on EDss scale. The trial was to prove SYMPTOM RELIEF ONLY. The results were that 30% benefited from symptom relief within 10 days. 60 patients were involved. 3. Dr. Bob Lawrence said that he will update his site because he now believes that a break from LDN is NOT necessary andLDN holidays should not be takenbut if you accidentally miss a day it is OK. 4. Our wonderful pharmacist spoke, Larry Frieders, Dr. Skip, and Victor and Terry from Irmats. All agreed that they do not recommend one filler over the other. It is individual choice. Dr. B requests lactose because this is what he started with and to keep consistency in records and results prefers to continue with same substance. Larry was very knowledgable in all kinds of LDN usage and mixtures and forms. (liquid, transdermal, capsules) Even mentioned transdermal does not usually work well but found an instance where it worked for autism...interesting? Dr. Skip will post his survey results tomorrow on his site. He entertained us and informed us about his results and beliefs. Terry from Irmat spoke of the chemical lingo of ldn and told us that someone is taking for Alopecia. Irmats is also donating all ldn and placebo for a trial in Mali, Africa for HIV that should get underway in the near future. 5. Sedlock wrote and had bound 100 copies of The Low Dose Naltrexone Manual. It is quite official looking and is a brilliant idea. All who attended received one as a gift from . , your dad must be so proud! Joyce, you made all of us tear and spoke from the heart about your experience. , your truly are an Irish story teller....everyone should order Upthe Creek with a paddle!! If Oprah calls anyone...it will be the thorn in her side .... And Sammyjo, you are a pro..you wowed the audience with your stats and charts.......Great job gals...thanks again Dr. Myra Gironi from Italy spoke about the finding of low endorphins in people with MS and how PP and SP have even lower than RR. Willing to work with Dr. Mir from Germany on LDN trial. There's more ...just can't think of it and must review my notes. Thought this may hold you over for awhile till someone else jumps in...........Got to meet cyberspace friends and I am honored and grateful.......thats all for now Kiki PS Larry , was there too, maybe he'll fill in.
