Good Morning,

I have a sample of BASF's Z-cote HP1 (Zinc Oxide & Dimethicone). I want to make

a diaper balm for my son as he gets nasty rashes at times (especially in the

warm weather). I'm not sure of the percentage to use in the balm as all the

information from BASF is regarding the usage of Zinc Oxide as a sunscreen

product and it says usage up to 25%.

Thank you,

Crawford

,

You have wrong grade of ZnO. You do not necessarily need the micronized

grade for your purpose although using the micronized grade will be

easier for you to disperse if you do not have access to high speed

dispersing mixers.

The typical usage level in a diaper rash ointment is 20%.
