Is it to do with fillers, or the fact that some LDNers use naltrexone with distilled water to get the proper dosage? How will the naltrexone bond with water?

I don't understand how you could have a reaction with fillers unless moisture was involved?

How long is naltrexone stable when mixed with water? I've seen several opinions now, with the shortest time being 24 hrs. From where do these time periods come? (I use Revia mixed with water, so this answer is important to me and others who do the same. Any help is appreciated--especially rteferences to 'official sources.)

Thanks, bentleyfam26 <mclarke@...> wrote:

I don't understand why it should become "unstable" if the tablets are crushed, unless you have an atom-smasher. Hasanyone else heard of this? Hi ,

What my pharmacist found was when he suspended the naltrexone in water it was only stable for 14 days. Instead he suspended it in an oil base where it is stable for 30 days. It is much easier for me to go and get a refil every 30 days than 14 days. My pharmacist is affiliated with the compounding pharmacies in Texas and did a great deal of research before he would compound my prescription so I feel very confident in his findings.

He mentioned when it becomes unstable it is not harmful at all, but at the same time it will not work. I wanted to share this information incase anyone is using it suspended in water.

best wishes,

Hello Arlene,

I am not sure if he is using glycerin...sorry. All I know is that it is in an oil....it is very bitter so he added Stevia which is a natural sweetener.

Re: [low dose naltrexone] Stability of liquid LDN??

Is he using glycerin?

Thank you

Arlene

Hi

Sorry to be a bother, but can you please tell me how much oil he uses for your ldn? Does he mix it in 50 ml of oil? How much do you take?

I use the pill/water method and was thinking about using a different suspension.

Can you ask what kind of oil they use, or if gycerin would work.

I would be willing to call myself if you didn't have a probelm with that.

Thanks

Arlene

Hi Arlene,

My prescription is 3mg per 2.5 ml oil oral suspension and I take 1/2 tsp at bed. I believe my pharmacist got his information from the Dallas compounding pharmacy. I think I am using the form of the drug called Revia. I hope this helps, sorry I don't know more.

best wishes,
