Guest guest Posted October 26, 2005 Report Share Posted October 26, 2005 Do you have a yeast overgrowth? Have you had an IgE test for allergies, as well as an IgG test for sensitivities? Getting your immune system stronger by eliminating any yeast overgrowth, and controlling your allergies/sensitivites, should help any immune system issues. For the tests, and other info, it would be good to see a DAN doctor. Guest guest Posted October 26, 2005 Report Share Posted October 26, 2005 Thanks Marilyn, yeast problems under control now.what is a Dan doctor? But suspect I have already done that too but with another name,I am in Australia.I have had these problems for over 40 years now so have tried everything I have come across but always happy to explore new things. I really believe LDN is the way to go but need to be able to cope with the side effects.So far,it is tough going.

From: & quot;Marilyn Sawyer & quot; & lt;marilyn1972@... & gt;
Reply-To: low dose naltrexone
To: & lt;low dose naltrexone & gt;
Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] LDN side effects?
Date: Tue, 25 Oct 2005 20:52:59 -0500

 Do you have a yeast overgrowth? Guest guest Posted October 26, 2005 Report Share Posted October 26, 2005 DAN stands for Defeat Autism Now. There is a list of DAN doctors for outside the U.S. at http://www.autismwebsite.com/ari-lists/danforeign.html. There are a few of them in Australia. DAN doctors run tests that most conventional doctors do not, and are able to get more information about the immune system than most other doctors. Even though DAN doctors specialize in autism, they do treat other problems as well. So, many of them would understand autoimmune problems in general, and might be able to give you more info than you have previously received. Guest guest Posted October 26, 2005 Report Share Posted October 26, 2005 the LDN "kicking" my immune sytem into trying to do something? That would be my guess. What I noticed as days went on was that my old symptoms returned -- in reverse order of how I had them! After the 4th return I realized they were like going back in time... 2002 sx, then 2001, 2000, and 1998... funny thing was, in the middle of the 2000 and 1998 symptoms, my double hernias were paining me, for a few days. I thought I finally had to go get them fixed, it lasted a few days and then the pain went away -- and that was the last time I felt pain in my hernia area. Then when my 1998 sx flared up I was like, Wait a Sec! Every symptom returned in reverse order, and my hernia had nothing to do with MS or LDN! Takes a good few months for your body to go through old wounds and see what it can do. May not 'heal' but will check things out. Good luck to ya http://www.larrygc.com/mystory is my journal thread on my ezboard about my early days (started 4/17/03) [low dose naltrexone] LDN side effects? Dear fellow LDN people,I am writing to see if anyone has experienced side effects when first taking LDN.I have been taking it now for 3 weeks,I do not have MS but am using it to hopefully correct a disfunctional immune system.I have extreme chemical sensitivities and normally cannot tolerate oral medications at all but am hopeful this will work because the dose is so small.I am using clear capsules with rice flour as the filler so I know that is Ok.It is not slow release.I am experiencing severe nausea,bowel problems,fatigue,totally spaced out head,very very giddy, and pain all over as usual for me.It is really an exacerbation of my normal symptoms which I am hoping may settle with time.I wonder is this my inability to tolerate the LDN or in fact,the LDN "kicking" my immune sytem into trying to do something?I am currently taking 3 mg,I tried 4.5 which made me heaps worse.I would appreciate any info that anyone else may have that will assist me re continuing as I would be very reluctant to have to stop.Thank you.Treveen Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You might should have started on 1.5mg for 3 weeks to 1 month and then increase to 2.0mg for awhile and so forth. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted February 20, 2006 Report Share Posted February 20, 2006 Beth, Has been done to death on here so check the archives - search for " side effects " . See also www.low dose naltrexone.org which explains it all too. Basically, some people have initial increased stiffness, possibly a little insomnia. The insomnia usually only lasts a few days max and most people find they soon sleep much better than pre LDN. The stiffness can last longer (there was someone on here who had stiffness for (I think) 87 days) but it can normally be counteracted by starting on a low dose and building up. Some people also have a bit of nausea or head aches but in almost all cases I believe that is due to the filler used (do a search in the archives on filler and you will learn all you need to know and more!). :-) No known long term side effects. Except of course far better health for many of us!! :-) Beth wrote: > I am new to this list... > Wondering if anyone knows of or has experienced any short-term or > long-term side effects > from taking LDN. > > Thanks very much! > > Regards, > Beth Every day I beat my own previous record for number of consecutive days I've stayed alive. . ,-._|\ C / Oz \ \_,--.x/ v Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
