It has often been said that the only true disability is lonelinees, and for

many people with disabilities this is a reality. If you have ever wondered

how to build friendships amoung people with and without disabilities you

will not wan to miss this session for parents, professionals and anyone else

who thinks there is nothing worse then being alone.

" My child has no friends and is lonely. " " How do I help my child to develop

friendships with his peers? " Does this sound familiar? Come learn how others

are promoting friendships between students with developmental disabilities

and their general education peers. Toni Byam-Pirotte, has been doing this

successfully and will the successful strategies she has used. During the

session

you will also hear from two students who have discovered the joy of the

friendship

they have developed in addition to Peet from the Best Buddies Program.
