Naltrexone was FDA approved at 50mg to treat alcoholism and drug addiction. The creme/transdermal LDN is used for Autistic children. People with MS, Lupus, Parkinson's, etc. must use LDN in an oral form to halt disease progression. Transdermal application might help symptoms but it will not halt disease progression. I have MS so I can't help you with the hypothyroidism and LDN but there are some here that probably can help.
Guest guest
I started taking 4.5 mg LDN, liquid, 6 days ago in the hope it will help my hypothyroidism. It has taken 4 years to stabilize my thyroid hormones and I now take T3 and T4. Thyroid levels are stable and normal for the last 3 months, but will change again soon, if history repeats itself. I am still very drained of energy compared to how I felt before the onset of hypothyroid symptoms, which I believe was in mid 1998. Since starting LDN, I have considerably more energy and stamina and I'm consistently, though slowly, losing weight just in the 1st 6 days. The first 31 years of my life I couldn't gain weight if I tried. In the last 8 years, losing any weight has been a major struggle, despite hiking at least 4 miles a day and eating less than 1/3 the calories of before. So far, it's very promising. I just relocated long distance and do not have a new doctor, though my wife has seen a local one who she liked very much and I will be trying. No blood tests for me post LDN, as yet. I don't intend to discuss LDN with the doc. until I have established a good rapport with him and the next round of blood tests is done. I bought from http://medsmex.com. Search for " revia " . It was $99 and change plus shipping, total ~ $110. I ordered via the web site with a credit card and received by registered mail a little box wrapped in twine, clearly from Mexico, in about 3 weeks. No one on this group has mentioned a problem with the postal service regarding suspicions of illegal drug import and I had no problems in the very small town where I now live, but it crossed my mind that in a city, the same package could raise some USPS eyebrows. The box even had a bright red card, as big as the box itself stapled to the twine, a literal red flag. Good luck. There have been complaints about people posting their personal sagas here as being off topic. Personally, I think such posts are the most valuable information in this arena -- actual case histories. In that light, I do intend to post again in the future regarding my progress or lack thereof, though not often. You may e-mail me off list as well.
