Guest guest
How frightening to be told some are harmed by LDN!! I had a phone consult and had taken LDN for a year starting June 20, 2004 when I suffered great pain diagnosd as a heat flare (my first despite living in Indiana and Texas with MS.) The Oregon coast had unusually high temps in the summer of 2004. I did an overnight in the Lincoln City, OR hospital July 3-4, 2004. I have regained bladder control and no longer fall without regaining upright stance w/o 911 ambulance help. I'm lately feeling the " crawling " facial sensations of shingles between my eyes at age 19 years, 2 months after 10 months of a marriage that ended in divorce. The pain and tingling in foot and ankle resulted in the end of swelling and puffiness after more than two years. I now welcome every ache and pain as healing of old injuries. The Australian News article says some have been damaged by LDN. WHO?? All best, Shirley Please inform me of all those with permanent worsening after taking LDN. Thanks, Shirley --- healthyseed <p.thomson@...> wrote: > http://www.sundayherald.com/52279 > > > > __________________________________ Music Unlimited Access over 1 million songs. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, It's been awhile since I posted, but I've been taking LDN for almost 2 years now..I started out with 4.5mg the recommended dose, and that was making me very dizzy so my doctor reduced it to 2.5mg and it seemed like that wasn't doing any good, so now I'm on 3mg and it is making me very very stiff I could hardly stand it and when I take the baclofen that relaxed my muscles too much that I can hardly walk...I went to my doctor last week and I told him what was happening he put me back on 2.5mg. The good thing about LDN is since I've been on it I haven't had any major relapses..just a little fatigue and off balance here and there...I read about the Kalawalla and I'm thinking about taking that to see what will happen. From what I've read it seem like it is going to do wonders for me. Shirley Lotz <shylotz@...> wrote: How frightening to be told some are harmed by LDN!! Thanks, Shirley =========== I think that those who thought they got worse on LDN were those who were afraid to ride out some of the initial symptoms that can occur in the beginning of LDN treatment. Those who have been misdiagnosed and actually have Lyme have not done all that well with LDN but upon stopping LDN the worsening stopped and they returned back to previous state before taking LDN. I've never heard of anyone having permanent damage from LDN. LDN may not halt the disease progression but it will not cause permanent damage at 3.0mg or 4.5mg taken 1 time per night. Dr. Bihari and Dr. Gluck have done over 20 years of research on LDN for many types of diseases and nobody has had damage from LDN.
Guest guest
I felt, overall, it was a positive story. This is the extract: ' ... "There have been people who have got worse on it, there have been people it has done nothing for," he said. "But it is a very interesting, variable response and I think this is where we really need trials, as there is something happening for quite a lot of people." ... ' The term 'something happening' infers something good is happening. Everyone is different, hence the need for clinical trials to answer questions. Guest guest
The plant polypodium leucotomos is a fern native to Honduras. Kalawalla and Rapuani are brand names for food supplements derived from the plant. Here's a link to an interesting study on the possible dermatological benefits of polypodium leucotomos: 'The Journal of Investigative Dermatology - How to Prevent Photoaging?'; Polypodium leucotomos (PL) - http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.0022-202X.2005.23810.x Regards, Cris Re: [low dose naltrexone] UK press release LDN-----some WORSENED by LDN ??? Guest guest
Shirley, I would interpret " There have been people who have got worse on it " not as meaning the LDN has made them worse but just that it hasn't actually helped them to stop progressing. > > */Shirley Lotz <shylotz@...>/* wrote: > > How frightening to be told some are harmed by LDN!! >
Guest guest
I don't believe it. Correlation doesn't imply causation and this sounds like a ploy to scare others. It sounds like something the ms society would write. God forbid someone find an inexpensive solution and those who profit from the pharmaceutical companies have to take a paycut or some other benefit which they receive at the chronically ill persons expense.
