Guest guest
Hi Deborah When a sensitive/intuitive patient tells me things, I listen. Particularly when they say that a different set (or another treatment) was very welcomed (so you know they are not just complaining about taking UNDA drops in general). It may be they are the wrong ones for her, or the wrong ones right now. Maybe she needs more liver work or general GI work (like 3, 24, 50) first. Both of these would help acne too. Also, is she doing COPs? You don’t mention it, and I think this is essential in her case. She is describing that her body is full (“making yourself drink when you are already hydrated”). COPs will help move some stuff out. Her case also makes me think of things like dang quai which would nourish and moisten the reproductive system and the bowel, potentially helping with both problems. I am also curious about what you mean by really good nutrition. What is her diet like? I have seen lots of thin, fit women with vegan, vegetarian or raw food diets which seemed nutritionally adequate, but which caused menstrual or reproductive problems. Loreen Dawson, ND Sechelt, BC From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of DeborahE Sent: Tuesday, February 02, 2010 6:00 PM To: Subject: Response to UNDAs I have a patient 28-yo F whom I'm seeing for acne, constipation, secondary amenorrhea, and counseling. Amenorrhea has been worked up ad nauseum by PCP, and they don't have a theory better than PCOS (no ovarian cysts, normal blood sugar, in a thin/fit young woman). Really good nutrition, does contrast hydro showers regularly, off the wagon with castor oil packs. There's definitely been emotional issues w/constipation (with definite progress over time), and I'm assuming there will likely be some w/amenorrhea. On a bunch of good basic supps (multi, B-complex #6, fish oils, Liver Cleanse, Vitamin D, an adrenal glandular). I started her on UNDAs 1, 20, 243, which she's finished, and now we've moved to a set for constipation: 6, 43, 295 -- when she had a bout of constipation on the first set (after being fairly regular for a while). So here's my question. Today she reports (started the new set about a week ago): " They're harder to take. The other ones, my body would respond positively, like thank you, nourishment, I looked forward to it! Now there's a part where I don't want to. Hard to explain. Not distasteful as in being repulsed. But the sense of making yourself drink water when you're already hydrated. " Does this make anybody think that energetically her body's objecting, and maybe this isn't the right set to be on? Or is that overanalyzing? She's also been having some abdominal pains, which are not clearly attributable to the UNDAs - I told her not to eat right before bed, and not to eat nuts (which she has a hard time digesting) for a few days just so we can clarify whether it seems to be UNDAs or not UNDAs. Any advice on how to proceed? Also, while I'm here what's a good set of UNDAs to address acne? Assuming hormonal dysregulation and liver stuff, of course. Thanks! Guest guest
This is a quick response, but just want to let you know that I've had really good luck treating constipation with chelidoniumplex- 15 drops TID and UNDA 226 5 drops TID - if the constipation is linked to liver issues and not enough bile salts to lubricate the fecal matter. I have had a few patients who had tried everything before seeing me and couldn't believe I could get them pooping regularly after 15 years of on-and-off constipation. It sounds like you're patient has some liver function issues (ammen/acne/constipation returning after 1,20,243 etc..), it might be worth a try. jesse pierce ND, Ottawa, ON > > > I have a patient 28-yo F whom I'm seeing for acne, constipation, > secondary amenorrhea, and counseling. Guest guest
I agree. I think even though she's constipated, working directly on the colon is often too direct because the problem is higher up in her system. The liver and general GI work makes sense to me. Also since she has an emotional connection to her GI consider the gemmo, Ficus. Also Digest-gen is a wonderful herbal combo that provides a broad approach to digestive issues. I agree that he diet may appear healthy but may not be correct for her at this time. I think that the Chinese medicine approach may be helpful here with diet based on her specific deficiencies or excesses. She may also have a food allergy or sensitivity as yet uncovered. Her intuitive sense is a great guide for you... The acne will resolve as her gut/liver and hormones come into balance. Good luck... Sobyl Bunis Chiropractor Santa Barbara and San Obispo, Calif.
