Guest guest Posted October 15, 2005 Report Share Posted October 15, 2005 I have a problem, I am trying to get LDN. I may have MS, I do have RSD and Lyme Disease and an autoimmune disease. I also have elevated liver enzymes. My pain levels are high, I can't sleep or take pain medications. I have a doctor in the USA who will prescribe the LDN to me...he feels it will help me out a great deal. My doctor here in Canada will not because he feels it is too much for my liver (this makes no sense to me). Does anyone know of a doctor who would be willing to prescribe this to me ???? In Canada??? And you got 90 tabs...I make my own dilution and it's a breeze and probably the only way I could do this this. I got 15 tabs for $25 at Costco. I have no prescription drug ins. So I pay for everything that I take....and you have close to 3 yrs worth...what a deal... [low dose naltrexone] Getting LDN A crazy thing happened to me and I thought you might all find it interesting, too. When I was first thinking of taking LDN, I contacted my insurance company, but they told me that they don't pay for compounded drugs. My insurance company then started their own pharmacy at the beginning of the year and I talked to them and they said they don't do any compounding either. So since I started taking LDN, I have been paying for it from a local compounding pharmacy. Last month my prescription was running out and I was thinking that I would really like to have my insurance company pay for it. So I called the insurance company's pharmacy and asked if they had 50 mg Naltrexone. They said they did. So I talked to my doctor's office and asked them to fax a prescription for 10- 50 mg Naltrexone. They said they would. Well, I got the prescription in the mail yesterday and they sent me '90' - 50 mg Naltrexone tablets. The label says take 1 tablet at bedtime as directed. The insurance company's pharmacy sent me a 'three months supply'. And what is even better, since it's generic, there is no co-pay. So with a little help from my calculator, I figured I got nearly 2 3/4 year's supply for free. (50 divided by 4.5 = 11 X 90 = 990 divided by 365 = 2.71) Of course the capsules are more convenient and I would still recommend them to anyone that wants to get them that way, but if you can get your insurance company to pay for it, all the better. Now of course I have to get a bottle and syringe and mix it myself, but anytime I can get something for free, I'm ecstatic.
