A couple weeks ago, Marilyn Van Sant ( " Ask Marilyn " in 'Parade' magazine)

asked her readers to submit their ideas for the worst invention of all

time. I suggested the Birth Control Pill.

Could it " win " in both categories?

May God bless all of you with great JOY in 2007.

the only problem is that giving HPV vaccine presumes that the woman will be exposed to an infected partner.. which may be the case unless two virgins marry and are then faithful. the presumption is that either one or the other partner may have picked up the infection prior to marriage, and it may be seen as an encouragement to promiscuity. Also, it does not protect against all oncogenic viruses, only the 4 most prevalent. In addtion, no one knows if the protection will last more than 4 years..so there are choices to be made.
