Guest guest Posted September 30, 2005 Report Share Posted September 30, 2005 I am about to start taking LDN in Australia, but have tested the samples given by my compounding pharmicist.I use a machine called LISTEN to test for sensitivity to the product as well as muscle testing before embarking in a new treatment due to my extreme sensitivities. I had problems with the avicel filler and also the white capsules and obviously the LDN in tablet form,so am going ahead with using clear gelatine capsules and white rice flour as the filler.ground rice or rice flour is commonly used here as a filler by compounding pharmacies for people with extreme allergies.

From: & quot;Bren & quot; & lt;TwisterAlley2@... & gt;
Reply-To: low dose naltrexone
To: low dose naltrexone
Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re: LDN, avicel and nausea
Date: Fri, 30 Sep 2005 19:36:52 -0000

& gt; Hi all.
& gt;
& gt; I have MS and I was on on LDN 3mg from May to early September and now
& gt; I take 4.5mg.
& gt;
& gt; These last few days I wake up with some nausea, which continues for
& gt; the whole day. Today it was quite severe. I used to have this symptom
& gt; a year ago. It is old.
& gt;
& gt; I have also noticed that an hour after taking LDN my L' Hermitte's
& gt; goes much worse, but when I wake up in the morning it is gone
& gt; completely(!)
& gt;
& gt; I also noticed that half an hour after drinking three glasses of water
& gt; and go to the toilet my nausea is gone. I believe that this is some
& gt; kind of poisoning by avicel, the filler Skip's use. But I am no doctor
& gt; and I am not sure about it. I think avicel is a very & quot;neutral & quot; chemical.
& gt;
& gt; There is one more clue. I take 3 caps of 1.5mg, which means that I
& gt; take three times the quantity of the filler. This might cause the
& gt; trouble. I will order both 3 and 1.5 mg capsules next time.
& gt;
& gt; Does anybody have any idea of what am I doing wrong? Has anybody
& gt; experienced similar problems?
& gt;
& gt; Thank you all.
& gt; Stavros
=========

I had nausea, headache and near vomiting with Avicel as my filler. I did not take three 1.5mg capsules to make up my 4.5mg, I only took one 4.5mg LDN capsule with Avicel and it made me that ill. I'm one of a few whose allergic to Avicel.

Skip only uses Avicel. It's more expensive but if you're allergic to avicel you'll need to switch to another pharmacy like Irmat. Irmat will use Lactose or Acidophilus on request.

 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
