Once upon a time there used to be a greengrocer in Bombay.  He had come to the

city from UP like many others who flocked there in thousands. He had failed his

Class XII exam, hence deciding to head for Bombay and search for a job was the

natural course of action. Lacking any qualifications, he had limited options.

That is when he decided to be a greengrocer.

He kept things simple. He got himself a cart and started selling

potatoes. Some say he sold onions too. It could be true because potatoes and

onions go hand in hand. That was nearly forty years ago. Now things have

changed. The same man is the owner of assets worth more than Rs 300 crore. For

this very reason he is being investigated. He was smart enough to become a

politician along the way. It is believed he could lay his hands on this

unimaginable wealth only after he entered politics.

When interrogated, our man came out with very interesting ‘facts’

about his millions. He told the investigators confidently that he never resorted

to any illicit acts to earn his wealth. He is an ardent follower of Shankar

Bhagwan who, extremely happy with his devotion, has had limitless kripa on his

bhakt. He wants us to believe Shankar Bhagwan has changed his life beyond

belief. It is quite possible because everybody says: ‘Jab Bhagwan deta hai to

chappar phad ke deta hai.’

When asked to supply the details as to how Shankar’s kripa exactly

worked for him, the former greengrocer narrated an amazing story. He accepted

that he had begun his life in Bombay in a very humble way. However, he always

wanted to be a big man like everyone else in Bombay. He had confidence in his

abilities and great faith in Shankar . Impressed by his dedication, Shankar

Bhagwan once appeared before him and granted him a wish. The poor greengrocer

requested Him to ensure that he should never run out of the potatoes and onions

he had on his cart that day.  Shankar Bhagwan agreed and had the genetic

configuration of those potatoes and onions changed immediately. Thereafter those

vegetables reproduced by budding (like yeasts do) and the greengrocer always had

a huge quantity to sell.

The investigators grudgingly accepted divine intervention as the

factor for exponential increase in his wealth. But they were not convinced that

even with an unlimited stock of potatoes and onions a greengrocer would

be worth hundreds of crores. They wanted a more plausible  explanation.  He

thought hard and replied that perhaps his money and property also grew the way

his potatoes and onions did.

After this meeting with the greengrocer-turned-crorepati, the chief

investigator reportedly spends hours worshipping Shankar Bhagwan everyday.
